Prediction is 45 mph winds and dropping to 14 degrees with a windchill of 0 tomorrow night. It is something that doesn't occur temperature wise very often and that is why it is so unpleasant when it does. I would bet there will be a bunch of frozen pipes Sunday morning. Not in this house. I am well insulated and a couple of faucets will be dripping. I live on top a rock and my outdoor piping isn't buried very deep and I learned years ago it it better to run some water than having to fix things after they freeze and bust.

Come on, springtime.

The high tomorrow here is gonna be 25 degrees, and a low of 9 degrees, with 20 to 30mph winds.

It is six degrees here with no wind; a low of -18 is forecast for tonight and a little lower tomorrow, with double digit sub-zero again next week but this is normal winter for Minnesota.
Odd thing is, last winter, which was not that bad, my water softener at home in the basement froze and split open; I had an electric heater down there to stop the copper line from freezing, which it did on occasion for the past sixty years.
For the body of the softener to freeze and split open makes no sense as when I down and saw that it was FAR from being freezing cold air temp down there, go figure?

The asinine talking head weather people that act like Hell is freezing over make me sick to my stomach; plus the shite for brains windchill crap ( which now has the equally asinine heat index in summer) makes me want to throw a rock at the TV screen.
If they think that a normal winter is SOOO bad, get the hell out and live some where else.

Good thing is this puts the derelict welfare trash in a world of hurt; nothing reduces the influx of such trash like a hard Minnesota winter.

The weather channel online is saying about the same thing. Winter has finally showed up it seems. I made sure all my pipe heaters were on and working. But its always colder in January.

Right now it is raining, sort of. Just enough to keep things damp. It is forecast to last through tomorrow morning. At least things should be dried off before the freeze tomorrow afternoon.

Put up my 2022 calendar today. Folks are still referring to 2021, but many have already moved into 2022, with order delivery’s and things like that. I hope 2022 is going to be better than 2021, which sucked. Mostly due to the incompetent stooge in the White House.

It's 68.7 on my front porch rat now as I type this at 12:08 AM. Tomorrow they are calling for severe weather to include possible tornadoes. The same system that came thru here on Wednesday is making a return visit they say. Bama had 2 tornadoes from that one. It's 71 in B'ham.

Then it turns cold. Mid 20s for lows.

a balmy 30 degrees. Real warm for this time of year and very little snow so far. We had a couple significant snowfalls eariler that melted. Only about 5 inches on the flat right now. Usually theres a couple feet by now. Only remember one other winter this slow in kicking off about 20 years ago. Had a new snowmobile that year and was biting at the bit. Tourists are riding already. I can hear them when im outside but they have to be riding on dirt. Sure doesnt have me upset anymore. All it means to me is i have to clean the driveway.

It was 79 here at 2:30 when I got up from my nap. Wind has been very brisk today. Storms are already beginning to form up all over north Alabama ahead of the major storm line that will move thru later this evening.

Lots of talk of possible tornadoes of EF2 and above in intensity. Hopefully that will prove a bust.

For those interested in such things both Alabama and Georgia easily beat those Yankee teams they played yesterday and now are scheduled to meet in a rematch of the SEC championship game with the national championship on the line this meeting.

The weatheguy has raised the forecast temp tonight. Instead of 14 it well be 15. At least the wind has settled down to a breeze but it is a chilly breeze. It is supposed to back into the mid 50's Monday and no need to drip water that night. I am going to spend the day inside tomorrow except for feeding the birds.

Weather Service says it is -18 below here right now, went out to start car so it will be easier to start in the morning. (It sat unstarted for two days.)

One person I communicate with on a gardening site up North, her area is -30, now, and that is only 100 miles from here.
We have snow cover on the ground now so frost will not go down as deep as it would have without snow.

32 and freezing rain here. I could feel the loss of traction so kept my speed down and easy change of direction. Saw a full cab pulling a trailer off the highway this morn.

NWS got the rain, changing to sleet, and then snow late yesterday right. It started after dark here and we have just enough snow to leave tracks in. They missed on the low though. Mother Nature called at 4:30 this morning and I checked while up and it was 11 degrees. The little town 18 miles north of me has a very weather page on their website that shows the low and high for the day and the time of occurrence. They showed a low of 5.7 at 4 AM. It all boils down to it's unusually cold here. Hope is on the way, 65 for a high Tuesday.
