Have you recieved one of these letters?
« on: December 31, 2021, 03:31:13 PM »
.
This is abouit the third one I have received over the several years..this one for CHRISTmas...   The last one I received 3-4 days after my wife's death.

Like the last one, this one came in a long 'business' type envelope.  It was addressed in what looks like hand done block letters, but by the print and ink and closer examination, it was obviously printed by some bulk mailing group.  Return address is simply a PO Box #..

The letter however, is printed in regular type, and starts out.. "Hello, my name is Don, and i live in C _ _ _ e, (a nearby town). Then it goes on tio discuss the troublesome times...and ends up offering a "Bible study".

Included also, a brochure from a well known cult.  The signature may have been "Don's"..but it was only a series of mostly vertical, and unreadable scratches.

It seems obvious that the cult has bought mass mailing privileges, and is shelling out good bucks to do so.
They are quite shrewd though, knowing that there are a certain number of people who are for one reason or another, hurting during this season...so here is an opportunity..

Whether they celebrate CHRISTmas or not, it is somewhat of an affront, to interrupt other's holidays.

The similar letter I received shortly after my wifes passing, made it obvious that they had combed the obituaries, looking for opportunities... now THAT WAS an insult !

Have you ever received a similar letter from the cults?

Never have.
But if I did, I’d mark them “return to sender “ and stick them back in the mailbox.

I’ve been removed from mailing lists in the past that way.

Non first class has postage due when it returns to the original sender. :)

Perhaps it is an idea dreamed up by some local branches of the same cult. Ostensibly, they were signed by different people, because one had a female name, and the other was not signed by 'Don'.

Matthew 10, huh?  Well, I wasn't able to complete vs 8..  I haven't yet cleansed the lepers, nor raised the dead..   ..And far as vs 10, I'm not giving up my shoes..  In vs 13-15  i hav ecalled upon people, and immediately i introduce myself..informing them what church I represent..

On the other hand, I have had some come to my  to "share the gospel"..they didn't inform me what church they represented..nd they wouldn't hear the REAL gospel..  So as they left, i picked up my shoes and dusted them off !

I didn't find anywhere in Matt 10, where He says to mail a letter !      ..But just FYI...I haven't received any letters yet, that were signed by Locust..

The book of Matthew was written to the Jews. Profitable for study yes, but written to the Jews non the less.

True, epistles such as 1&2 Corinthians was written to the Christians at Corinth, Romans was written to those at Rome..and Hebrews for Hebrew Christians; but they are filled with doctrine and information for all Christians.

I think we will not hear of any pastor  worthwhile, suggest Christians not read the whole truth of scripture

Come to think of it, the entire OT was intended for the Hebrews, but we still read & study it !

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  (2 Tim 3:16,17)[/color

I can truly say without malice, that I have never witnessed anyone that was so closed minded, and so centered on being right, that they could not comprehend someone else's point.
You are my first. My 10 points of a spiritual narcissist was not to insult you, but hopefully open your mind. I knew better, but it was an attempt.
I've been trying to communicate with you for over 16 years, but you only see "your" point.

Well, perhaps if you express your point with a bit more clarity..  ..Could be I missed your point, but so far it seems as if you are saying that certain books are not worth a Christian's study time.

How am I to interpret what you said in your post #11? .............
"  If he saying what I think he is trying to say, he would be right"

Or perchance we are both saying the same thing..that although the epistles were addressed to certain groups or people (e.g. Romans..Timothy), they are still important to us..  If that is the case, I can surely agree.

In just about 1&1/2 hours, I will be preaching on the beatitudes as enumerated in Matthew 5..

Jesus was seated inthat natural ampitheater, preaching primarily to people of the northern kingdom of Israel, along with some from Judah..Hebrews all.  ..But isn't there great information for all of us in that sermon?

There are certain things we all must consider with any slice of scripture.  Perhaps first among these is, ..who is preaching?      ...First thing, Iwill point out..Who is preaching

Jesus is preaching..He is the one who created us, (John 1:3) so he knows us inside and out..he wrote the 'owner's manual'..so He is eminentally qualified to do so.

Good stuff there for all of us !

BTW: That letter wasn't "some others mail", since it was addressed to me.  Seems like if it held any importance of any kind, the writer would have signed with his full name and address.  ..But no, he didn't sign with anything more than "Don"..
suspect there was no real "Don", but actually a cult, trying to trick people into listening to their long ago discredited sing-song.

How could either have  been any clearer as to what I meant?

Instead of reading them and understanding them, you run over them to start quoting scripture and tell me that your preaching today, and the topic you'll be preaching on.

I don't care.

At your age I have no real hope of getting you to listen, as your so deeply ingrained into promoting yourself.

You ask for clarity, I ask for your attention.

I genuinely give up.
You are so narcissistic, you insist on demonstrating on everything, because you believe you are the only one who understands scripture.
You talk down to everyone, and I assure you I most likely have studied, and taught in depth as much as you.
I just don't choose to beat you over the head with it.

I will refrain comment on any of your thoughts in the future.

'Magine that !..I just got another letter, apparently from the same cult.last time signed by Don...no last name..

This most recent letter was from John and Flora...still no last name..but it was sent from PO Box #251..

No surprise I guess, but Don (no last name) used the same PO Box #251.

I don't know why they feel a need to prey on me...other than that I have had some evangelistic successes recently..
They didn't furnish a postage paid return envelope, or I may have decided to tape it to a brick, and mail it back.

They did furnish a web address though..  something like ... JW.org.... So a bit later, I happened to search for JW something..and here's what I got..

This "cult" sending out the  letters got a name? Surely they do. A letterhead, with some sort of organizational name. Your being really vague.

  Top left introduction simply says..

   John and Flora
   P.O. Box251
   ______ NY

Sign off  is simply signed John and Flora...with some blue posies across the bottom. I did get another brochure,
asking if I knew...." who really controls the world"..  They offered a verse from something called the "New Century Version".

After perusing it closely I found on the back bottom, that it was the JWs.

Have you ever received a similar letter from the cults?
the thing is you have to know there are pagan practices in the holidays of the world .Christmas and Easter are two of the biggest ones .yet still you hold to them because of the feel good aspects that are so entrapping

All that^^^ spouting of JW dogma, quoting from The NWT and your refusal to identify your cult, and some are still confused as to where you come from.

Even   screed above, shows your colors..Christians not Heaven bound.. simply going out of existence..   all dead giveaways, and still you wont own up to your cult connections.

you seem to be saying there is no such thing as a resurrection. Jesus resurrected many even the apostles resurrected people. true there is no record of how many yet it did happen.
one day in the not-so-distant future ,millions, even billions of people will be saved from death to then live here on this earth . your wife living again .

i am assuming you did not want her dead, any more than you want to be dead . dead is as bad as it gets .
