Doing it the hard way

My computer fried. Lost everything on it. New computer and my old password is wrong on this website. Attempts at changing it failed multiple times. PM to GB got no response. Emails to Matt did the same. Called in the computer geek son with the same results. So here I am with an altered user name and a new password. After all the attempts I went to my ipad where I was still logged in and found that I had been logged out on it. Anyway, good morning everyone. Hope it is a nice day where ever you are.

I replied to your PM and assigned you a new password.

Do you need me to send it to your e-mail address instead? If so tell me if that e-mail address is the one in your account.

Or you can PM me again from this one now that  you have a password for it. I suspect what happened was you logged out on the other before you got the PM from me, I was hoping since you were online at the time I sent it you'd be able to get it. PMs are a poor way to handle password changes.

I put in my email address in the password change attempts to receive a new pass word by email. Nothing in reply each time and still not anything in my email. What happened to cause this I have no idea. Can you change my username back to original? I would guess that when you changed my password that signed me out on my ipad as I did not log out and that left me swinging in the wind until I re-registered this morning.

My windows 7 may fail soon because the cooling fan has quit and I have to lay it on a folded towel to prevent burns.
But, my wife installed all the stuff I have on a dedicated part of her windows 10, and she also put everything on a memory stick.    Hopefully I'm covered.

I have no clue what happens when you ask for a new password thru the server. My e-mail is known to the world it's graybeard@go2gbo.com. Send me an e-mail and I will tell you the new password for old account.

I have no way to know what a valid e-mail is for you unless you tell me.

Not sure how she did it, but my daughter found all my passwords on my old computer before it died and made me a print of it. Saved my bacon.
