I believe I informed you a while back that I wouldn't be "discussing" anything with you anymore because of your narcissism concerning all things.
My last comment was in response to  your dragging me into a conversation I wasn't a part of.

And as I also said sometime back, I have an 84 year old uncle just like you.
Hes never wrong either. And like you, he'll  justify something he said until everybody finally walks off.

Me saying your narcissistic isn't being disrespectful. Its being observant. And your ignoring other folks opinion, one upsmanship and never admitting fault is disrespectful.

You've been way past disrespectful to locust from the very first post he posted here. Where's his respect? You never let up, and taunt him, and accuse him, at every opportunity because of what YOU THINK.
Just like that old uncle of mine. ;)

Just keep that in mind.  ;)

..Locust?..Dangerous cults need exposure... because they destroy souls..

Your complaints seem to arise from Biblical discussions...  Such discussions do not revolve around "opinions" but scriptural truths.

So if you disagree with my cited verses, just prove me wrong with scripture..  You say you will not do that...so why bother to bog yourself down in a discussion where you do not want to fully participate..

He's in a cult because you say he's in a cult. I've seen zero proof of him being in a cult. Just because you "think" hes a cult member doesn't make him one, and just because you "think" hes a cult member doesn't give the right to accuse him of it.

You continually promote yourself, and what you "think", but don't really know, and justify your treatment of someone based on nuthin but what you "think".

We have to look at the whole world, not just the US.  Europe has left God.  Their vast chruches are empty on Sundays.  The have abortion, gay marriage, etc.  The same as the US.  China is communist and has no regard for human life.  Sin is rampant world wide.  Disease, now with Covid is world wide.  America was the last hope of the world.  England was before America.  England had the largest empire in the world, ever.  India, half of Africa, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, all were under English rule.  They spread the Gospel throughout their empire via their church, but also via Methodists and others.  Their empire fell apart after WWII.  America then sent missionaries all over the world in the 1950's and 1960's and beyond.  Now we are no longer doing so as much.  Recently, especially in extremist Muslim controlled areas, Christians have been beheaded and killed for preaching the Gospel, in China they are jailed or set to reeducation camps.  Persecution was not as bad 40-50 years ago.  Many were welcomed because they taught them how to farm, drill a well, read, write, and brought medicine and hospitals.  Today, not so much.

The signs are everywhere.  The only thing that hasn't been completed is the Temple in Jerusalem.  When that is rebuilt, then the end is very near.

ill give that an amen. Men have been studying it for 2000 years and still dont know whos right or wrong. What makes someone here think they nailed it.
Here's the situation..you and Dee seem to be most upset by my Bible study opinions...OK let's look at it....

I have spent nearly 50 years, studying,

So what. That doesn't mean you have it all right.
I ain't "upset" at your "opinions",
I just get tired of your self-righteous narcissistic inability to admit fault on ANY subject, religious or otherwise. In the 16 years I've had the unfortunate privilege of reading your posts its never happened.

just what im talking about. You dont agree with anyone and are just spoiling for a fight or argument. Your little one line slams against everyone is why this place shouldnt allow religion to be discussed other then say your a Christian. Because thats all that matters. For 3/4s of the time Christianity existed working class people like us didnt own a bible and most hadnt even touched one and they were probably better Christians then the typical Christian today. If that makes my kettle black so be it.

keep in mind that when Jesus walked on earth his followers were considered a cult by most.

I think anyone that wants a Bible should get one.
I don't believe it's up to me to decide whose going to heaven, and whose going to hell.

Cults are usually pretty obvious, and yes,  some cults do, and some cults try, to sneak under the fence of Christianity.

But I also think that before someone declares someone a cult member they should have absolute proof,.

I'm with Lloyd on this one..because a man would have to be bereft of reason to think otherwise..

Just consider, how did the Jewish government and the Roman occupiers view the new (to them) Jewish cult?
Well, just consider, as soon as they found an excuse...they crucified the leader.

Not only that, but wherever the apostles went they were persecuted !  ...And they were persecuted to the extent that one by one, they were all murdered...usually in a most gruesome manner.

The only one to escape martyrdom was John....although he was boiled in oil ....but somehow survived.

Starting out early..Stephen was the first martyr of the church, and how did the Priests view him and his "upstart" religion..  .Here's how..

54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Then there was Peter and his denial..accused by a servant girl of being "ONE OF THEM"..

66 Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came. 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.”

68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.

69 And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, “This is one of them.” 70 But he denied it again.

And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, “Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”

For the 1st century Jews..all matters of faith must originate with the priests in the temple in Jerusalem.
For a new covenant to arise anywhere else, say nothing about Nazareth, a backwater town of little consequence, seems madness indeed.  This shows that attitude...

45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

46 And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”  (John 1:45,46)

If that's not enough there is plenty more evidence, where that came from..

He complains that I do not heed the verses he offers..just like the answers I provided him just yesterday, proving how the 1st century Jews and Romans(world superpower)  viewed the Christians, he like any obedient JW, just blows off the evidence..

Can anyone doubt the treatment Christians received for the 1st through 3rd centuries in any of Rome's provinces, or especially, in "the eternal city" of Rome..itself ?

When I studied with the seminary, I made a sspecial study of the early church..simply because for many Christians, so little is known..  Even at this moment I am reading a book entitled  "ROME" (a history of seven sackings)..  by Matthew Kneale, an Oxford scholar, who today lives with his family in Rome itself.

The book takes us from the mythological Romulus, up to the present day..  It includes a couple very incisive chapters on the early church..  Obviously something they don't study in their "Watchtower Bible school of Gilead" seminary in Brooklyn.

He still hasn't challenged the validity of the evidence I presented.  However, that is a recurring theme with  the JWs.
They seem to be taught certain arguments and have to learn those answers, so they can answer them by rote.

Take them beyond their expertise, and they launch into their "ignore the truth" phase, and go no to try to select the few verses they have "canned" answers for...just as Locust did when I offered him proof..

in my search for the word cult in any bible that is available ,i am instead finding the words, heresies, factions, parties, sects. yet the word cult is not present. i am coming to the conclusion that you's are tiring to make a word work where it does not apply  .
the definition of the word cult
[kəlt]
NOUN
a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.

a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister.
examples of this would be guys like Jim Jones, Mashel Applewhite ect. all flamboyant leaders  .

my want to understand pagan influenced belief really has no interest to me . face it you are looking to find feelgood belief. you should if fact be reaching to alien your self with scripture . all scripture . this pick and choose to what any one  ''wants' to believe will not get you salvation.
so what, you are fervent in your supposed actions toward the praise of God  . means nothing . if God see's misaligned worship in a standard he has already set . will get you kicked aside . yes there is a fine line . always has been always will be that way .

    Locust;
I don't like to be accusatory and rude to anyone, but in some cases it is required by the Bible..

In reply #42, you wanted scriptural proof, that early Christians were abused and considered a cult.

In reply #44, I provided solid evidence of such...but like the usual JW, you just ignore facts when they are placed directly under your nose...just as if they didn't exist.
Obviously you haven't been programmed with an answer to these evidences

I reiterate, I don't like being rude, but the Bible demands that the Christian confront all false teachers.
