The husband of my former wife dead.

I always got along with my former wife and her now decreased husband. She she told our 25 year old daughter and she told me.He committed suicide by going into the bathroom and blew his head off with a shotgun. It was a mess he wasn’t recognizable.My daughter went over there after the Police and the EMTs had already taken out the body and took the shotgun, and she saw the mess all over the walls. His family says they saw it coming with all the migraine headaches he was having, and had given up on the doctors who wanted to check and see if he might have had a brain tumor.

  Not really fair to opine I guess, but that is a bad way to do it if he wants to go.  The step-father of my wife's teenage friend in high school, committed suicide the same way, in the kitchen.
  Wife's friend has carried that  vision ever since..especially since she was the one who had to clean it up.

  Perhaps going out hunting, would have been a better choice...even though I can sympathize with extreme pain..

Well, I've personally seen a bunch of those, and that they create a mess is an understatement, but they are quick and sure.
Suicide is many times a selfish act, with little thought of the survivors.
Constant pain however, could be the motivation, or something else.
I've seen that to, but most of those do so privately when possible.
But I've worked'em where they did it in front of the family, as some sort of cruel punishment to them.
Seems that when someone commits suicide, that's all that anyone ever remembers about'em after that.

Dunno, but i was told his family is in total shock after only three days. He was only 52 years old. Only his father is holding everyone together My ex is 55. There was nothing left of his head so they can’t determine a brain tumor.

My ex told us he had and was suffering with covid also.

  Could be something to the brain tumor  idea ,  My aunts BIL was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor not long after took his pistol and ended his life .

  A couple months ago, my next neighbor up, who is 80, went looking for his 62-year-old son (who lived with him) out back of his farm.  Didn't find him then but went back out late in the day and found him in a hay field, he had taken a knife and cut the artery in his upper leg.

  Neighbor told me "George" was lying there staring up at the sky....  I felt soooo bad for my neighbor and still do!!

  They found a letter on his son's desk, that said he loved his dad, and he would see him in eternity.
