Love those frito pies. Have you ever stuck a match to a frito? Try it, you'll be surprised.  Fritos are listed in some survival manuals as good for starting fires in wet, or windy weather

No, but I have read where they are good fire starters and I can see why. First Frito pie I ever encountered was at a drive-in movie with my then girlfriend during high school. That is something both of you eat when on a date. Lots of onions and teenagers didn't go to the drive-in to really watch the movie even back in what was almost dinosaur days.

Some spaghettaroni I made the
other day. I'd bought a case of
tomato soup and split it with a
young relative that likes it.
His mom didn't like that the
" best by. . ." date was approaching
and sent some back,  so I used
some of the extra cans to make
sauce.
Probably make a pan of cornbread
to go with it
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I’m a sauce guy. You would have to be starving me before I’d consider using tomato soup for an ingredient. If I were to do so. I’d be seriously reducing it...

Well it's sure not any kind of
premium sauce, but it's better
than throwing it out or letting it
spoil from age. I don't usually
eat tomato soup without a grilled
cheese sandwich. That's about the
extent of how I'll use it.
Since I had the cans and the noodles
and onions, spices, etc. I figured I
didn't have anything to lose.
It's not bad and decent enough to
look forward to eating it
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I have zero love for canned tomato soup but I have/do eat it.
Not bad with buttered toast and crackers.

I keep cans years, a LOT , past use by date; my one cousin is a paranoid - use by - dork.

Last night's was a gringo burrito. Left over crock pot BBQ pulled pork in a flour tortillo and lightly toasted in a skillet after assembly. Having the wife feeling well enough to get back into the kitchen is really nice. My cooking skills consist of opening cans and frozen dinners.

Last night was a surprise birthday party for someone who had never had a birthday party. Southern fried catfish, dirty French fries, red beans, cornbread, coleslaw, and sweet tea. Dos Eques if you're so inclined.
It was a good night in my BILs barn.

This was so good I made another big pot except no taters and chicken broth instead of pork. My son is eating a little, so 1 more besides me eating it :)

Being as I am alone now, like many others living alone, I am not inclined to spend much time fussing over a meal.
When I toss together a meal, more often than not..I am using the microwave.  Often it is some kind of TV dinner, but i may also nuke an russet potato.  I just take the raw potato, slice it lengthwise several times, going nearly to the bottom (1/4" slices)..put a bit of margarine between each slice and nuke for 5 min.
Do I want some meat?  Maybe..maybe not..but if I do, just I nuke a quality hot dog, a smoked or Polish sausage.
If I craved meat as some do, I would probably cook up 3-4 pounds of meat, then freeze in single serves..then use them one at a time.
Vegies come in a salad or part of a bag of frozen veggies..heated up and some kind of dressing added..maybe with Cajun seasonings.  Vegetable juice helps also.

I get the full course meals too, since I am often invited to my son's house next door for a regular meal..

Then too, on Tuesdays, we have an evening Bible study which is accompanied by a dinner, brought in by we members.

It is then that the ladies outdo themselves...getting this old man to  accept some of their dishes to take home...  I usually get enough to make a couple meals, and delicious ones at that !.

Sometimes.. instead of a more complete meal, I just whip up a package of Ramen soup, and that does it..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Good healthy meals here. As for frozen dinners, Marie Callender’s are the best. Banquet is pretty good also, depending on what you get.
