..Coming up for air..
« on: March 05, 2022, 01:05:37 PM »
After my announced hiatus, in the light of recent events I find it difficult to keep "holding my breath" !

It does seem that Comrade Vlad may have bitten off a bigger bite than he expected to be obliged to chew.  Apparently his secret agents which he has installed over the years, are not enough to convince the Ukrainians to readily give up their freedom.

They are now being trained by some of the world's best and most experienced warriors.

It doesn't look like Ukraine is ready to simply "roll over"..

Well IG, Huckabee just had on his show, the former Washington insider who wrote "Putin's Playbook" and after hearing her, your fears of Putin, not Russia but Putin are well founded.

She said he is of the same group of Russian Socialists that birthed Ivan the Terrible, and Stalin; he is a cold hearted calculating person who will kill his own , without regret , to further his plan.

The fear of nukes is real, not WWIII ICBM launches but he will use a low yield tactical nuke to stop the West by escalating the war to the level where such nukes could be used.
She said Putin has never hid his intentions or what he would do but the Democrats were never listening.
He probably wants badly for the U.S. to try to impose a no-fly zone.

I actually can see him being asassinated by his own military.

Last night Newsmax reported that Putin is the wealthiest oligarch in the world.. estimated at
  $200 billion.
Later, Bill O'Reilly was on as a guest, and confirmed that estimate.  Of course, we have oligarchs here too, but here, they are called lifelong politicians.

Recently, Marco Rubio (Sen-FL)..being careful to avoid compromising intelligence sources, implied that there some real concerns around the world about Putin's mental state.

Knowing that nuclear generating plants are not... and cannot be built to withstand a military attack, it seems the world should be concerned with Putin's mental state.

I used to think he was a good thing for Russia and the Russian people, but after seeing that nuclear generating plant fired upon...it appears he may be about 2 Fench fries short of a happy meal.

Had the plant been ruptured..much of Europe would have died and suffered from radiation poisoning..

..And that is not good for any people, and least of all the Russians.

I've never thought Putin was good for anything other than filling an empty hole in the ground,  but now I think hes lost his mind. He seems openly desperate, but for what. This is a war in Ukraine that will either escalate into a world war, or a guerilla war that will last his lifetime.

Democrats today don't listen to anyone, even if they have much better ideas.  Some things are just common sense.  We do not need to be importing oil or gas, or foreign manufactured goods that are critical to our way of life.  My son is in the national guard.  Some of his MOLLE backpacks and packs are made in China.  This should be made in the US period.  It was like the N-95 mask shortage.  They are mostly made in China.  All of our military equipment should be made in the US.  At the very least our allies.

Democrats won't drill.  Clinton gave China most favored nation status in trading in 1998, and in 20 years they sucked our factories out of our country.  Some that had left for Mexico, left Mexico for China.

They are hell bent on the "Green New Deal" but it will take 20 or more years to put up all the offshore windmills and plains states windmills, as well as solar panels.  Not 10 years like they want.  Can't even make them that fast.  Same with electric cars.  It normally takes 30 years for any new technology to become wide spread.  Phone was invented in 1876, but it wasn't until the 1920's until they were widespread.  Same with the telegraph.  Same with automobiles.  Computer chips were invented in 1958, but it wasn't until the late 1970's and 1980's that personal computers became commonplace.  The cell phone was invented in the late 70's.  It takes time, lower costs, and money to transition to new technology.   The world won't end in 10 years unless God want's it to.  Not going to end because man burns fuel.

Someone somewhere is going to produce solid fuels and reap the revenue. The ones he’ll bent on green energy use most of the fossil fuels and don’t know it.

When Huckabee questioned Putin's mental state, she said the blah, blah about mental problems, that is also used nowadays for any thing that is simply an evil person being evil, is totally wrong.

She this is what he, and other Soviet  people of power were like the day they were born; as I said before they will kill their own to serve their purpose and not give a damn about doing it over and over.
She implied this is the state of mind that would get one into the KGB.

She was born in Russia, and said she , to this day does not know why , but her parents had her learn English from beginning grade school and had not one good thing to say about socialism, why telling her to question anything she heard or read from Soviet sources.

Ron Paul Was Right about Ukraine
by Laurence M. Vance

February 16, 2022

EMAIL

The Cold War is over. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR, or Soviet Union) is no more. The Berlin Wall has been dismantled. East and West Germany are united. Yugoslavia is now the independent republics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. Czechoslovakia is now the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The communist dictator of Romania was overthrown and executed along with his wife. The Warsaw Pact has been dissolved.

Non-interventionism is practical, sane, moral, just, and right.

Yet, after listening to what is being said about Ukraine, it seems as though some Democratic and Republican politicians, pundits, and think tanks want to return to the dark days before any of these things took place.

The country of Ukraine was dominated by foreign powers for hundreds of years. After World War I, the eastern part of Ukraine was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union. All of Ukraine was united in 1939, only to remain under the control of the Soviet Union after World War II behind the “Iron Curtain.” In 1954, the Soviet Union transferred Crimea to Ukraine, which regained its independence in 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Crimea is a peninsula surrounded by the Black Sea to the south of Ukraine. It was here at Yalta that a conference was held during World War II between President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the United States, Prime Minister Winston Churchill of Great Britain, and General Secretary Joseph Stalin of the USSR. After being controlled by the Mongols and the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years, Crimea was conquered by Russia in 1783 under Catherine the Great. The Crimean War (1853–1856) was fought between Russia and an alliance consisting of Great Britain, France, and the Ottoman Empire.

In 2014, Crimea, which is over 50 percent ethnic Russian, voted to secede from Ukraine, and Russia annexed it. To the chagrin of neoconservatives, former Republican member of Congress and presidential candidate Ron Paul observed: “Why does the U.S. care which flag will be hoisted on a small piece of land thousands of miles away?” He was right.

The government of the United States may care, but the people of the United States do not care in the least about what happens in this part of the world unless it affects them in some way. The American people don’t lose any sleep over whether Ukraine is autonomous or dominated by Russia. The American people don’t care about the territorial integrity of Ukraine any more than they care about the territorial integrity of Malawi. And most Americans could not locate either country on a map unless they were labeled with big, black letters.

Whether they know it or not, most Americans are Jeffersonians when it comes to foreign policy. They would prefer that the United States remain neutral, not intervene in the affairs of other countries, and not send its soldiers to fight except in the defense of the United States.

Thomas Jefferson put it well:

Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations — entangling alliances with none.

We wish not to meddle with the internal affairs of any country, nor with the general affairs of Europe.

I am for free commerce with all nations, political connection with none, and little or no diplomatic establishment.

We ask for peace and justice from all nations; and we will remain uprightly neutral in fact.

Even if every bad thing that is being said about Russia and its intentions for Ukraine is true, and every good thing that is being said about Ukraine is also true, it still wouldn’t change anything. The United States does not have a divine mission to police the world.

Ron Paul was not only right about Ukraine in 2014, he is still right about it today. As Dr. Paul said recently:

The philosophy of non-interventionism is one very good piece of insurance protecting us from needless war. If you don’t meddle in the affairs of foreign countries, there is less chance of being dragged into an unnecessary war.

Ukraine is a great example of why non-interventionism is the only pro-America foreign policy. We are risking nuclear war with Russia over what? Ukraine’s borders? Surely most Americans see how idiotic this is.

This is not our fight.

Non-interventionism is not isolationism. As Dr. Paul said the last time he ran for president:

Under a Paul administration, the United States would trade freely with any nation that seeks to engage with us. American citizens would be encouraged to visit other countries and interact with other peoples rather than be told by their own government that certain countries are off-limits to them.

A Paul administration would see Americans engaged overseas like never before, in business and cultural activities.

Non-interventionism is practical, sane, moral, just, and right. It is the foreign policy of the Founding Fathers — and Ron Paul.

(Note)  My words: As in ALL wars, it's the innocents that suffer. I feel for the people who have no say so about what is happening in Ukraine, and I hate all politicians involved in the destruction and loss of lives there.

Not to excuse the spos Putin for what he has done to the innocents in Ukrain, but I saw something similar take place in Baghdad under the leadership of our very own pos GW Bush.

Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.
