49 year old Marcial Ramirez was
caught smuggling 211 pounds of
methamphetamine worth an
estimated 3.8 million dollars stashed
in the gas tank of the truck he was
driving. Sgt. Randy Thumman and
his K9 discovered the drug stash
during a search of the truck in
Fayette county Texas
Wow, thats a lot of Meth. Amazing how the dog could smell it over the smell of the gasoline. Dogs always seem to amaze me.
Don't know for sure. I'd imagine it was
an auxiliary tank sans gasoline full of dope.
The BP checkpoints find secret compartments
and such added onto smuggling vehicles
every day. Charcoal canisters for emissions
used to be a popular thing. They'd hollow
one out and a large one could hold about
3-4 kilos of meth. They'd just mount it
underneath the vehicle like it belonged
there. There's lots of so called body shops
on both sides that strip a vehicle and weld
in all manners of compartments to fill
with contraband and reinstall the interior
and try to make the vehicle look unaltered.
They were catching them a long time because
the new alterations were noticeable, now
they fix em up and drive down the muddiest
dirtiest roads they can find to cover everything
up. They also smear oily dirty grease over
everything to try and make the BP agents
hesitant to touch anything on the vehicle.
All this goes on 24/7
Smugglers don't close or take a holiday
