To ride a bicycle? Or swim, its been decades since i once did. If i do try to ride a bicycle again I'm going to wear a helmet. And try to swim in a shallow pool where i can still touch the bottom. Practice all over again i guess.

Wouldn't hurt anything to get that
helmet and dust off the bicycle JIC

One good thing about them
They don't need any veterinarian
or farrier services, or a stall to
house them in. You can put em
in the corner and they'll stay quiet
and not tear anything up

  Never too late Phalanx..
 a couple years ago I bought a Schwinn "loop" folding bike.  I started riding, but of course there are a limited number of good riding months available where I live, so I needed an indoor exercycle for winter months.
  I found one available on the local "traders mart" on the web.. Gold's gym model hardly used $100.
  I made sure i got one that exercises the arms in a rowing motion also..because a physical therapist told me arm exercise is somewhat more effective for cardiac exercise than peddling.

  My son set up my TV so i can get all kinds of apps on it, full screen.  So I "ride' my exercise bike wher i can watch TV..tune in Youtube and LEARN while I am exersize bike..works well.

 Below see Schwinn bike..the low bar makes the bike an easy step through..other brands work as well.

Several years ago I gave my bike away to a nice kid. I live in the county but the county made a truck by-pass out of the crappy road I live on and we get a fair amount of traffic. The trucks that come along aren't really bad, it's the idiot car and pickup drivers running 65 and 70 mph on this no shoulder, rough bar ditch, rough surface, excuse for a highway we have that has a 45 mph speed limit. SP and SO are seldom seen. I decided to quit bucking the odds of getting run over. I also gave up walking but that is more because my running gear complains a lot now days. Walking out here isn't as dangerous as bike riding because you can quickly get across the bar ditches on foot.

Now I have a stationary bike and can ride in any weather while watching movies, youtube, whatever.

  That looks like a really nice bike Phalanx.  So long s you can swing yoiur leg over, it will do fine.
  I just happen to be very short legged.

  Just this afternoon, I got some good exercise in.  A nice 65 degree day, so I stacked a whole load of rough cut green hemlock, putting stickers between, so they will cure better.
  They are not only green, but sat under a snowbank all winter..long as they were freed from the snowbank, i took the opportunity to stack the pile with stickers between.

I wouldn稚 even think about trying to to ride a bicycle from here into town out here. Good way to die. They make three wheeler bikes so you can haul things.

Hey, any of you guys ever try to ride one of those 3 wheel shopping bikes?

  Many years ago, my brother bought one for my Mom..she had never ridden bicycles, but she got right on it and rode off.

  She was cagey though..  She got me to try riding it..  Dang it !  She got a big laugh as I tried to make a circle with that 3-wheeler..  Having ridden bicycles for many years..it was natural to try to "balance" the bike..so i made a big, looping turn..must have been a 50 foot circle.  when all the while, I probably could have turned it in 6 feet, if i didn't worry about balance..

  Mom got a great chuckle out of that !

IMO they're the most versatile of all
the bicycle types I've had and used.
I'd like to have some pannier bags,
but all the ones I've ever seen are
way out of my budget.

around here.
Several of us used to ride the bikes
at a piece of public land to access
it for hunting. No motorized vehicles
allowed,  and lots of red tape to
bring animals to ride or pack with

  If the gas keeps going up, I'll probably spend even more time on my going about on my 50cc scooter.
  It's a 2 stroke, so I don't get as high a mileage as the 4 cycle ones, but I get better power.
  Still, I usually get between 80 & 100 mpg..

There's a "homeless " guy that
rides a bicycle with a homemade
trailer where I fish sometimes.
He has a little tent and bedroll
and his camp kitchen and other
goods.  He's not belligerent like
the dopehead " homeless " people
around here.  Fairly decent bike,
but like mine not the newest
technically up to date model but
plenty serviceable

A friend lived several miles from
the small town and rode his scooter
down the dirt and gravel county
roads to within about an eighth mile
of the town, and bought his few
goods and carried it all back home
in a daypack.  Saved a good bit of gas

It痴 easy to mount. Lean it towards you put your leg over on it then stand up. Or adjust the seat. I had to do that.
