Spring time fishing

I haven't been in a few weeks myself.
I was hoping things might warm up
considerably by now. It's supposed to
be time for gardening and hard core
fishing, but the weather is not cooperating.
My last short fishing trip was pretty
disappointing

Anybody had any luck at all, or made
a trip out at all ?

My grandson age 14 went down to my pond and caught a small bass yesterday. He spent about a half hour there.

Might give things a try in another
day or so
Cold front and hard rain came through
and it seems to turn things off in this
area until things calm down
Be nice to have a decent catfish for
Friday supper

Been unseasonably cool with white caps on pond. First ducks have arrived though they usually don’t stay long.

Worked on a buddies Merc trying to change water pump. Couldn’t get starter off to access shift linkage. No access.

Tried a throw net to catch bait fish. Have poor technique.

Plotting ways to flip sail boat to work bottom. What could possibly go wrong?

Have many a good memory of trout fishing in SD. Tried the fly rod for VA pond bream and bass but fail miserably. Clear leader but maybe the bright fluorescent line isn’t a good idea.

Went out crappie fishing a few times and haven't caught very many. Betting they will start moving up and getting ready to spawn in a week or two.

The crappie are usually here and
gone by now, but we've had considerable
late cold/cool this year
Very strange weather for this region

One place I fish from time to time I
noticed after the sun got up pretty
good that a middling sized flock of
cormorants was working the opposite
shoreline. That would account for the
lack of action at that particular spot.
They're worse than turtles about wiping
out the game fish
