Rossi 223 Remington...
« on: March 10, 2004, 12:04:34 PM »
My Uncle just purchased on of these inexpensive critters--it doesn't shoot worth a dang!!!  3-4 inch groups at 100 yards are the norm.  Anyone have one of these and what type of results are you getting?  Thanks...BCB

kjeff50cal,

It is 'scoped and he is presently just shooting factory ammo.  Reloading may help, but the accuracy with the factory ammo ain't good!!!BCB

I have a similar Rossi (Rossi Combo .223/20ga). The .223 barrel I scoped with a Tasco 3 X 9 with Simons rings. It seems to like Rem. 55gr SPs (1/2" to 3/4" @ 50 yards) if I pull that 8 Lb trigger right  Yes, it needs trigger job, badly.

Try the Win Value Pak  Varmint rounds.  The NEF's usually love them  The Rossi may too.

I have also read that placing a rubber o-ring around the fore-end screw between the fore end, and barrel thus making it free-floating will help improve accuracy, just tighten screw enough so that a dollar bill will slide smoothly between barrel, and fore end.  O-ring are available in the plumbing section of any hardware store.
