burger
« on: April 02, 2022, 11:01:26 PM »
were getting low on vension burger because i didnt do crop damage shooting last fall so told the wife when she went shopping to pick up 20lbs. I about crapped when i saw it marked in 4lb packs 6.69 a lb and that was only 85/15 burger. We bought sirloins cheaper then that last year and bought some ribeyes bulk for 7.50 a lb last year. Id hate to see what one goes for today. keep your eyes open though. She bour5 packs and one was marked 6.19 a lb so im sure meat is going up so fast that if you look you might see cheaper right along side of it. But even at 6.19 thats (censored word) nuts for hamburger. Thanks brandon!!!!

Thanks to Biden and his radical left supporters..

Something I "cannot compute"...  Some of the obvious leftists here STILL have not voiced their disapproval of the radical left's tactics or aims, even  though most seem to be bright enough to observe.

As I have often said, I left the Democrats because I could see their trend in McGovern..

Then I left the Republicans, because of their reluctance to dump the Rinos.

...Now, why can't the brighter Democrats, finally 'bite the bullet' and admit the Democrats are doing their utmost to destroy the country.

..And yes, I am just as puzzled with my younger brother, who has spent his life as an "educator' at both high school and college levels.

It's supper time for the clan at grandpa and grandma's house tonight. Burgers and weenies. We are supplying everything but the meat. Our son is bringing that and commented that he was surprised when it was cheaper this time than the last he bought. I didn't ask him the price but the weenies were still the same as around a month ago. He does the grilling chores and I am happy to let him but for some reason I always wind up putting up the grill afterwards. It's a small price to pay for not having to cook so I can live with it.

I have no problem getting good cow burger here for $3.99 a pound, I saw it for that a couple days ago, I do buy it sometimes.

I also buy bulk pork sausage and mix it 50/50 with my venison as I take a package out of the freezer.  I get top quality pork sausage for $3.99 a pound and it is the way I prefer to eat my venison burgers/meatloaf/pasta sauce ect..

Yeah, wrong year to lose your crop damage source. Gonna go up from here I'm betting.  Glad we put a half a beef in the freezer before all this crap started, cost much less per lb than your burger.

Unless I have some hidden out
in a shelf in the deep freezer, I
used the last of my reasonably
priced ground beef tonight for
some glop
I have a feeling all this mess will
ease off somewhat

I saw burger today for $3.39, I bought really nice boneless/skinless chicken breast for $2.29.  I also saw some really nice pork chops for $1.79 but passed on those too.

Start to consider stocking up on some flour..and dry yeast..almost any grain product. This also includes anything fed grain products.

Keep in mind..Ukraime produces 1/3rd the grain supply, and both Ukraine and Russia furnish much of
    our chemical Fertilizer.

I stocked up on A LOT of beans and rice years ago. My wife doesnt much like either so ive used very little. My guess is if she got hungry enough shed welcome a plate of beans and rice. Made up 50lbs each of breakfast sausage and bratts yesterday. Already had quite a bit of it but this summer will be different then most years. There will be alot more pork ate here then beef. Its to the point that even burger is a luxury. My wife shakes her head and says even at those prices we can afford it but im just a bit more bullheaded then her.

Used to be several fertilizer plants within
an hour's drive of here.
An old time feed/farm store was right up
the street here since the early 1900's
before any of this area was annexed.
All of that has been closed up because of
the unrealistic regulations the gubmint
has laid down
The nation CAN feed itself and
supply all the needs if the career
politicians would allow it to happen.

China and India and none of the
other third world nations hobble
their industries with the regulations
like we do, yet they're steadily
spewing pollution from their
antiquated manufacturing facilities.
Oh well.  . . .

Qwik Trip and such store up here, make it possible , if one pays attention to ads and such to get hamburger for as little as 1.99 a pound.
One has to actually read the ads that come in the newspaper (although some stores will now ONLY snail mail them to you if you sign up for them) ads, and there are still deals out there.-- (The local daily newspaper will discontinue, Sat. edition May 1st, and is about as big as the ad flyers that small, small towns have sitting for free, in the windows of local diners.)

Paid 2.99 a # for ground beef and .99 a # for pork sirloin roast and 1.19 a # for butt roasts in the last 2 weeks... I need another freezer as mine are full and my kids are like hungry dogs that I have to feed better because they speak and can tell on me...

I bought cow burger today for $3.99 and had a big burger along with slaw for supper, it was very good.  (The $3.39 burger was sold out)

ooohh, I had a coupon that took a dollar off any burger I bought too, so that was even better.
