Back on Father's Day (Water Carnival Week in my home town} I had a friends and family gathering that was already started when I was still a pants-pooper.
I cooked Pork Chops and Steaks from Sam's Club over corn-cob coals with a few twigs of this that and the other thing for kindling.
I had seasoned them , well, and they were marinading in the fridge for weeks.
I had a LOT of corn-cobs but even then you are cooking over a quite rapidly dying hat so you have work quickly.
Every one loved them but my taste buds were not working so I had to take their word for it.
Also had:
Orange Ambrosia -- LOVE that stuff and could eat gallon at one sitting.
Potato Salad with radishes.
Coleslaw made with cabage and carrots and she had cut them in thicker pieces, liked that.
Cowboy beans with bacon.
Pickled Green Beans
Black Olives, I ate 90 percent of the jar and drank the juice.
Bacon wrapped Jalapeno poppers
Rhubarb desert and Chocolate cake made with a whole pound of butter.
