My NEW TOY
« on: March 10, 2004, 02:01:18 PM »
:D  :D  :D  Hi all, well if you all remember i missed out on a nice NEF shotgun, well i have been kinda bummed about it, well today the guy at the shop where it was called me, he said he had just gotten a trade he thought i might want. well after hearing all about the H&R TAMER he had just taken in, he droppped the bomb on me, it has a 12ga DEER barrel, and a black wood forarms on the 12ga barrel. well this i had to see for myself, so in my van i jumped, and away i went. well i found a tamer that looks new, with a factory fitted 12ga SMOOTHBORE DEER barrel, and yes a black wood forearm.  it was love at first sight, now i am not sure what i was going to do with it, but for $120  out the door she came home with me :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D  now i just got to find something to do with it Hmmmmm...................... i got it,     "H&R 410 TAMER GOOD FOR ALL GAME FRON MOUSE TO GROUSE" and with the 12ga barrel "12Ga H&R TAMER GOOD FOR ALL GAME FROM squirrel TO SWAMPDONKEY"     LOL :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

And for all you southern boys a "SWAMPDONKEY" is a nickname for a moose.

VC... Sounds like you have yourself a nifty short range woods gun. Good luck to you with it.  How long is that 12ga barrel and is it equipped with iron sites or is it drilled & tapped for a scope rail?

VC I'm having a hard time picturing that. Sounds pretty cool. Post some pics if ya can. Does it still have the pistol style stock on it?

Congrats on your find...Sounds like a neat little gun.  I am trying to visualize it though.  Does the receiver have the nickel finish and the thumbhole/pistol grip stock?  Glad to hear that you finally found a smooth bore deer barrel so you can shoot those cheaper foster style slugs.  I wouldn't mind finding one of those for target shooting or hunting in the ultra thick stuff.

it does still have the tamer pistol grip stock on it, i am thinking about maybe swapping it, but i am not sure yet. the slug barrel is the same thing that came on the tracker1 slug gun, its a 24" smoothbore with rifle sights on it, as soon as i get a new USB cable for my DIG. camera i will get pics up, it really is kinda a funny thing, but i dont know, i had to bring it home, now i got to try it out with some slugs :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D

Won't the synthetic stock on the 410 tamer barrel fit the 12 gauge barrel???  I have the same forearm as the tamer on my sportster and for kicks put it on my 12 gauge, snug fit, but it fit.

Just curious.

YES the plastic forearm does fit a 12ga barrel, but its VERY tight, i would guess that is why the old owner bought the wood one maybe????? i am not sure, but i an not going complain :)  :)  :)  :)
