More proof the greenies are phonies..
« on: April 17, 2022, 02:36:57 PM »
Their claim is that there is too much carbon in the air, nd that mankind..chiefly those baaad Americans, are to blame.
Of course we already know they are fake, and the "new green deal", is just about the biggest political scam to come along since Tammany Hall !  ..Just another control scheme..

Science speaks, and says that if the world were to convert to "carbon farming", that would draw so much carbon from the air, that any such problem would be solved.

.... But we don't find the greenies acting on anything that isn't political and America crippling by design.

It would seem that with the trillion$$$ of dollars debt they accrued for the "new green deal", much would be set aside to encourage and even sponsor large scale carbon farming practices.
...But no, they would rather sponsor things that cripple production, jobs and other facets of our daily lives...primarily American lives..

No; I don't believe all their rap about global warming...but it and "wokeness' is their religion..  ..But if they would settle for carbon farming as the answer..and it sure wouldn't hurt the earth, more people could be content.

We already have the more advanced farmers well started into the "no till" farming methods and it would seem that with some encouragement, carbon farming practices could become universal.

...But of course, they would rather complain, riot, and destroy individual rights ..

Interesting video.
Buying and selling carbon credits is something new to me.
But, I learned about cover crops many years ago when farmers planted rye or clover to plow under and put nitrogen back into the soil.
The guy with the giant pile of wood chip compost had something similar to what me and Nancy call mulch mountain.
We had a giant oak tree cut and chipped on December 11, 2020 and all of it piled up in the back yard.
This spring we found that nearly the whole pile had turned to black dirt.  :o

We are slowly spreading it around in the back yard islands but since that type of compost is acid, we are adding lime every where we put it out.  Except around the rose bushes.

No till farming yes, recapturing carbon good...but I believe "carbon credits" are a racket..designed to allow the wealthy, political types to personally use excessive energy etc, without criticism.

That is how they "justify" their many mansions, giant yachts and private jet airplanes .

Yeah, I read somewhere that Al Gore was doing that.
His carbon footprint is huge.

(This spring we found that nearly the whole pile had turned to black dirt.  :o)

Here it would still be a pile of wood chips. I started a couple of limb piles out in the pasture for the quail to use around 25 years ago. They are still piles and the only change is they have settled some. Some ranchers have been clearing mesquite bushes off their range for years. The method used is a track hoe with a blade that has a "u" shaped cutout and just rips them out of the ground. Then they are piled up and there they remain, about as durable as tome stones. When mulching lawnmowers came out they were touted to help your lawns. Here all they do is leave dead grass on your lawn.

Despite farmers being seen as low brow clods by the educated they are pretty smart or they don't remain farmers for very long. No till was being used many years before Al Gore ever came up with global warming. It use is simple. It saves money. Every trip over your fields with a tractor costs money. More fuel, more upkeep means less money in your bank account. Now most of the irrigated farmers in this area raise two crops, cotton in the summer, wheat or oats in the winter. The winter crop serves three purposes. It keeps your soil from blowing away, puts nutrients back into the soil, and puts a few more dollars in your pocket most of the time.

Before my folks retired to Florida from Illinois, folks would drive by our house on Sunday afternoon to look at my Dad's vegetable and flower garden.    My Dad was an artist and perfectionist and his gardens looked like the cover page of a magazine.  (I inherited none of his talents)
And, he never let a tractor on his gardens.  An old black fellow on the edge of town would plow it every spring with a mule.

When he planted a Kentucky Wonder bean, it was exactly beneath a tightly pulled string. :o ;D
