Yes.....it looked like an accident, the armored vehicle was going too fast and lost control.

It happens, and sometimes unfortunate things happen. Our troops actually practice to overcome these things.
Apples and oranges... icy conditions are a whole, new ball of wax..
We had one troop who lost control during steering and damaged a parked car, but it was only a short veer off course.
The M47 Patton was a bit differentthan later models, in that it steered by a wobble stick, which took a bit of dexterity. If you don't force enough, you don't steer..a bit too much force, and you veer sharply.
I have seen that happen, but not nearly as drastic as that tracked vehicle did. It even appears to have scuffed up the pavement.
Later track laying vehicles..at least ours anyway, seem to have a different steering system.
