son in law scored yesterday
« on: May 11, 2022, 09:37:49 PM »
he came over with a used like new lcp he picked up for a 100 bucks. He said the guy selling it said it wouldnt run or feed. I looked at the bullets and they looked like a plated wfn. I told him most likely it was that bullet shape the gun didnt like and to run out to the reloading room and grab a box of factory ball of the shelf. He came back and I loaded to mags and it didnt miss a beat. Dont know who made that ammo but it sure was stupid design for a semi auto handgun you have to rely on for your life. Told him to use the ball till he could find some speer gold dots for carry. I have two lcps and have owned 3 others and about new it wasnt the guns fault. Mine run like sewing machines.

Everything I've poked in the one
I've shot functioned just fine.
Haven't used any cast anything.
Several different brands of ball,
Critical Defense and another some
something with XTP bullets
Not really a 380 fan, but these days
it's sometimes necessary to make do
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

ive got a couple of them. There darned good guns to ankle carry or with a wallet holster in the summer when your clothes make consealed carry tricky. Im not a big ruger fan boy but both the lcp and lc9 just run. I prefer my smith shields to the lc9 but the lc9 is every bit as reliable.

I know absolutely nothing about the little things but that sounds like a winner to me if you want a tiny pistol.

I was on the phone with my oldest grandson yesterday and found he has gone over to the dark side. He told me me had just bought a Glock 43. After he told me what he paid for it brand new if someone offered me one for the same price I might join him. I'm not a Glock hater. They just feel weird when I hold one. If I couldn't find love for it i could certainly get my money back.

i like a 43. Yup some glocks dont feel right in the hand but they sure do work and you can adapt with practice. That said the 43 is a bit different. Ive got 4 smith shields and there great guns but for this guy with big paws a 43 actually feels better in the hand. Matter of fact of all the small 9s the glock with an extended mag fits my hand the best.

Going back to ankle carry...

I cannot get the right feel for it.
Perhaps it's the wrong holster or the gun is too heavy.
Holsters eventually settle to rest against ankle bone, and it HURTS!
Maybe the Ruger would be "better".  IDK.  I don't think so...
Meanwhile, with bone take a beating, I won't carry there.

Glocks do work, but there soulless pieces of plastic.  ;D However I have one. A Glock 19 that my friend that builds guns tricked out for me. It sits in the safe most of the time while I Cary a revolver of some sort most of the time.

i dont own any gun I would say had a soul. To me there tools. One that works better then another even if it isnt as pretty is just a better tool. I remember a day when i wouldnt have a plastic stocked rifle. Now 3/4s of my rifles are synthetic stocked guns. Never saw a deer die faster because i had one of my guns with pretty wood out in the field. All i know is if shtf and i had to grab one gun and go it would be one of my glock 22s. My 23 or 19 would be a toss up for second if i grabbed two. Revolvers would be at the bottom of my list and i do have a bunch of them. But if i need a fighting handgun and dont have to worry about concealing it my choice is a 22 hands down.

I got to shoot the grandson's 43 this morning. It is the first Glock that I have ever held that didn't feel weird to me. I didn't shoot it a lot but hit both 8" & 6" gongs at 10 yards with every shot. My hand was stinging at the end from the little bumps on the grip. I hate those things and if it was my gun it would get a Houge grip wrap to make it comfortable and fit my hand better. I wasn't real crasy about the sights but they did do their job.
