It appears the Ukrain army has fought eastward..
« on: May 16, 2022, 05:44:17 AM »
They are moving eastward, taking towns and poised upon the Russian border.

Ukranian rep in London says their forces are not interested in entering Russia, but rather they would prefer that Russia just leave them alone.

Who is going to encircle who?

Russians low on manpower.

https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-may-15

“Ukrainian Military Intelligence Directorate stated that Russian forces are conducting covert mobilization and creating new units with newly mobilized personnel who likely have insufficient training to be effective and little motivation to fight.[3]

Russian forces also deployed new conscripts from occupied settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to maintain an offensive around Kharkiv City, likely due to the lack of Russian reserves.[4]

Russian private military companies are reportedly forming combined units with airborne elements due to significant losses in manpower.[5]

Denaturing elite airborne units with mercenaries is shocking, and would be the clearest indication yet that Russia has exhausted its available combat-ready manpower reserves. The Russian 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade is reportedly receiving personnel from other Black Sea Fleet units, including navy ship crewmembers.[6] Newly formed or regrouped units are unlikely to be effective in combat”.

UA sending M777 howitzers to the front while Russians issue Mosin-Nagant’s to Donetsk conscripts.

The Russian military seems to have a lack of officers.

Scuttlebut says Putin has cancer.  Some say thyroid, others say blood cancer..

With his latest antics...one may wonder if it isn't brain cancer.  If so, his contemporaries may be considering a replacement.

Seriously..  If he wants a greater Russia, he ought to be smart enough to stay home and truly cultivate the great expanse of a country Russia already occupies.
Russia is gifted with natural resources and many great advantages...he doesn't need more land..or as Hitler used to say.."lebensraum'..or living room, room to reach out and develop.  At least, Hitler had a small excuse.

There are and have been some very key and powerful nations, which only have a small expanse of land...but hard work and diligence gave them power and stature  (e.g. Japan, Israel)

I really thought for a time, that Putin was "getting it together", when he brought in 15,000 displaced South African farmers..and awarded them each many uncultivated acres, laying fallow in Russia.

...But he must have 'lost it' !

The difference is the Ukraine is fighting for survival; Russia/ns are fight and have zero internal drive to succeed as they , the soldiers, do  not want to be there.
I have little doubt is Russians were fighting invaders, the result would be reversed.
