They've said 1 hand gun, then 1 hand gun and
1 rifle,  then 1 rifle. They likely just don't know
and are throwing speculation around for the
sake of a story.  All say a latin male shooter.
One says border jumper, the other says anchor
baby, the other says native citizen, so I guess
they were trying to cover every angle.
Needless to say all the media have included
the buzzwords associated with these kinds of
messes. Gun control. Gun culture. Wild west Texans.
Lax gun laws. Loopholes. Etc. Etc.

Somebody's lying here. A local news station is saying that the shooter was a murder suspect, and was being looked for by police. Local news says there was a pursuit. Police sources are telling local news the suspect dropped loaded AR15 type magazines on the way into the school.

Video on Fox News shows the suspects pickup wrecked and in a deep concrete drainage ditch.

BUT! News is saying there was no pursuit, even though they say he abandoned his truck and ran into the school.

Its a confusing, suspicious mess.

Been trying to get ahold of a relative that's
not far from where this mess is taking
place.  So much spin gets added before
we get any valid information it's nigh
useless.  We can't even get any decent

The shooter killed his grandmother, and was being hunted. In trying to get away he wrecked his truck, and police got there just as he entered the school.
He started shooting at anyone he saw, including police officers. The officers went into the school under fire, and killed the shooter who was wearing body armor, and wounded several officers in the fight.

I think it was 4 minutes after the shooting. The New York Times came out and was blaming the NRA. Talk about politicizing a school shooting. Then of course Biden couldn't wait for his chance to do so.

In Texas, schools can arm teachers with training, but this school apparently rejected the opportunity.

It is amazing how the news works. Each source thinks they have to be the first and no fact checking, just get it to the public FIRST. Even when there is some time they still seem to get things scrambled. There was a murder in my little town Monday, the first in years, and the local paper published the story yesterday. Fairly early in the article they said the perpetrator was apprehended by NM state police at the Arizona border. Then at the end of the story it changed to him being arrested by Arizona officers and he was in jail awaiting extradition to NM. That is just another example of why I don't trust what the news tells us. They don't really know what they are telling.

As for slo jo and the others I told my wife "here we go again". Another push to get rid of guns because they are evil with nothing said about the fact it was an evil person at fault, not a simple machine. Just another excuse to disarm the people, not to solve the actual problem. We have background checks, red flag laws, etc. that was not well enforced but nothing is going to satisfy the gun grabbers until we have none.

 I appreciated Dee posting what the local news said, perhaps they are not so twisted up in the anti-gun rhetoric, so they can at least think straight ! 
  As one may suspect, the first one to get to the WHOLE story, would be Tucker Carlson...the man the lefties want to crush !

  What the national media seems to overlook:
   The grandma killings, the car chase and the gun play..are the symptoms of deeper problems.  Other questions could be asked..
   
  1) Does the kid spend many hours, playing violent video games?

  2) Does he perhaps have divorced parents who are fighting..and keep drawing him into it.. Or
   perhaps have parents who both have ignored him..leaving him with grandma?

  3) Is the school pumping him full of mind-bending drugs?

  4) Is he one who like the recent Buffalo shooter, who posted on line, his joy at executing a cat
    by beheading ?

  5) Has he been showing extreme tendancies that somebody should have caught, and helped him?

    So many questions...and it seems, only one stupid "answer" so far....
