Moe evidence that California ir ruled by idiots
« on: June 02, 2022, 03:57:02 AM »
Judges have just ruled that bees can be classifies as fish.  :o This is so they can be protected as an endangered species because California law doesn't include them.  ::)

You don't even have to go to California to know that. Just watch a Hollywood interview.

Honey bees, like English sparrows, and pheasant aren't native to North America, so if they disappear, I'm reasonably sure we'll be OK.

Their kinda like "baby formula".

In California, men are women, women are men, and now bees are fish. :o

Many of our non-native crops depend on honey bees for pollination. Almonds and apples to name two.

I knew a fellow in Florida who rented out hives of bees during blooming time of orange trees.
He would take a flatbed semi load to orange groves and set them out over thousands of acres.

Oh, welcome to GBO reloaded.

I've thought for many years that insecticides were killing our bees.
We stopped using it because of the many birds that nest in our trees and nearby and they need the bugs and worms.
For skeeters we use a product that you put in a water container and set them around your property and it kills the larva.

Much of our agricultural and wildlife
problems and diseases are very
similar to our citizens maladies.
They're brought in from outside from
other countries and continents.
Fire ants and zebra mussels and
tilapia are the first things that come
to mind. Human diseases are things
we've already whipped in the past
like polio, smallpox, TB, etc.
and stuff from stupidly letting anyone
and everybody in , diseases such as
Ebola, covid 19, bird flu,  etc.

It's bumblebees and I should have put that in my post. Are there any type of bumblebees except wild ones? If so that's something new to me.

Bees are now legally considered fish in California under the state’s endangered species law, an appeals court in Sacramento ruled Tuesday. The 1970 act explicitly protected “fish,” which were initially defined as invertebrates. And because the act has protected snails and other invertebrates that live on land since, Tuesday’s ruling said it interpreted the legislation to also include bees. “Accordingly, a terrestrial invertebrate, like each of the four bumble bee species, may be listed as an endangered or threatened species under the Act,” the 3rd district

It appears that science was pretty much ignored in the original act of 1970. Fish have a backbone as any fisherman, whatever his education level, knows.

Fire ants and zebra mussels and
tilapia are the first things that come
to mind.

And these are some aggressors in Florida:
Kudzu
Air potato
Love bugs
Walking catfish
Lion fish
Bullseye snakehead
Carp
Piranha (on the rise)
Plecostomus
Muscovy duck
Burmese python
Cane toad
Cuban tree frog
Rhesus monkey
Brazilian pepper
Feral hog
Iguana

If I had to pick just four (4), they would be...ALL of the above~!~!~!

Was kayaking the Everglades this past January. My dream was to see a python and shoot it. Even bought a 22 mag to carry in the boat.
Never saw one. :(

With about 7,8000 square miles (almost 50M acres) to roam and in which to hide, the threat is real, but the evidence is stealthy and scarce.  Annually we've had thousands of snake wranglers traversing the edges (mostly) and they have returned with a measly few hundred pythons.  The threat will continue to grow, literally, and our birds, small mammals, and reptiles will be their targets.

What happened to "Africanized Bees" (killer bees)?  We used to hear about how those reacted to disturbance with a vengeance, swarmed, and stung people to death (or intolerance, whichever came first).

I have two hives. They're Italians so they're lovers not fighters :)
I believe the Africans have been halted/slowed down by cold climates and crossing with the existing less agro hives.

Let's hope that's what happened.

Love me some buttered biscuits and honey.
