Can older receivers be converted to transfer bar setup?

I may be bad at searching but I could not find the answer to this.  I have an old Topper 158 and was wondering if it could be converted to the hammer with the cutout and the transfer bar that only lets the hammer hit the firing pin when the trigger is still held back?

Also is there a good video on youtube anywhere about how to completely field strip and replace all the parts in these type receivers?

Probably not, Ruger single sixes can be converted but you're talking factory.
A gunsmith might be able but I'm sure it would be too expensive.

IMO  you could offer that early model
up for a trade for a newer version.
I would think it'd be worth more as
an unaltered example.
Should be a good many that would jump
at a chance to have the older model.
Most of the alteration threads I've seen
on GBO 1 and GBORe had to do with
removing the transfer bar system

Transfer bars fail more often than a rebounding hammer type.
So I’d say keep it original.

Conversion the other way has been done to do away with the t-bar, but I don't recollect anyone wanting a t-bar, only not wanting it! It may be possible, but a better option would be to buy or trade for an SB1 frame as Ranger suggested and fit the M158 barrel to it, there are some available in the H&R classifieds on GBO.

My best guess at conversion is the frame will have to be milled to make room for the lifter striker assembly.

Thanks for all the responses.  I bought a stripped 158 receiver for very little money and was looking to build it back up for use.  I am finding both types of parts online, and I was just wondering if the transfer bar system would work.  I will probably end up just getting the old style parts for ease of assembly.  I was really just wondering if the transfer bar system would work because looking at the parts, it looked to me like they were designed to retrofit into the existing receivers.

Is there a good tutorial or video anywhere showing how to either build up or tear down a receiver?  I am wondering in what order I need to do things to get the springs and parts to line up correctly.   These are fairly simple and I'm sure it would be obvious if I don't put it together correctly, but I'd like to benefit from the experience of others as I've never worked on one of these before.
