Because of the Russia-Ukrainian war, wheat and corn are going to be in short supply this fall. Also, yesterday, Russia bombed Ukraine's wheat terminal. Most of their wheat goes to the middle east (Muslims) and Africa. So, they may use oil to buy American wheat, or want to go to war with someone. I also heard that Argentina and Brazil had poor wheat crops this past year. So, they are going to make bread before they make crackers. Crackers are on the bottom. Corn shortages will make meat prices rise and cause an ethynol shortage to put in gasoline, probably causing a gasoline shortage.
Prepare and store stuff now, much of this won't hit until fall when Ukraine and Russia don't have wheat to sell. Especially Ukraine because their farmers are helping fight instead of planting and harvesting.
Gasoline drilling and production when down during Covid and with many people working from home with computers. So, people are getting out now and going back to work instead of working from home. More traveling, getting around dried up gasoline storage. Drillers and producers haven't caught back up. Then you add government not giving drilling permits, nor permits to expand refineries because they are pushing "green" energy. So, by the end of summer gasoline will probably be around $6 a gallon.
Government, since the 1960's have caused all of our modern problems. 1965 with welfare and food stamps created the single mom household, because if you were married the combined incomes didn't qualify you for help. This kids raised without fathers, or rolling stone fathers. This in turn has created a violent bunch of young teen and early adult men.
Drugs are another thing. I've read you can't process certain drugs, like cocaine without chemicals. These chemicals are made by only 3 companies in the world. A German company, and two American companies, Dow and Dupont. Well 90% of these processing chemicals go to Columbia. Hmm. Easy to stop this, just don't export these chemicals and keep a close watch on who gets them. It would stop the cocaine market. Government inaction.
Health care is another. In 1960 85% of Americans had health care provided by their work. So, they had excess money in Social Security and they created Medicare. Later Medicaid for disabled. That covered the elderly who lost their insurance after retirement or the disabled who did the same. Ok, stop there. We were ok. Then in the 1990's we passed the Free Trade Agreements, first with Mexico and Canada. Then, in 1998 Bill Clinton gave it to China. Well 1.4 billion people making about $0.10 cents and hour vs Americans. The giant sucking sound started and China sucked our factories away. There goes the health care for manufacturing workers, especially textiles and shoes. Also many others. So the number of Americans who had health care dropped and we ended up with Obamacare, and higher health care costs.
Now we have a violence problem with all the shootings. Hmm. No simple security measures have been put in place almost anywhere. Single point entries, all doors going outside locked. Armed guards or teachers. Also, if someone has a mental problem the law states they have to be reported to the police and put on a no gun buy list. This isn't being done, especially with violent teens, or mental teens. At 18 their juvenile records are expunged and they start over as adults. This should not be so with violent or mental teens. Put them on a no gun buy list at 18 to at least 21. Most gun crimes are done by late teens and early 20's. This can easily be reduced by having them on no gun buy lists. However, 85% of gun crimes are done with stolen guns. The rest or borrowed, straw purchases, or actually bought by an 18 year old with no record because their teen records weren't brought forward. Another thing, if you drop out of high school, no gun purchases until you are 21. In Alabama, drop out rated dropped because you can't get a drivers license if you drop out until you are 18. This is forever for a 16 year old. Similar laws could be put in place for guns. It won't stop everything, but it would help. This is without outlawing guns or taxing guns and ammo out of business. Stopping the welfare queens would also help by cutting welfare and food stamps after a short period for them to get on their feet. Like 2 year limits.
Government created most of our problems today. The poor before 1965 were taken care of by charities, churches, and their families, not government. We once got a 100% tax deduction for charitable donation and to chruch. We no longer get that. Churches and charities were more efficient at weeding out fakes, and only gave to the truely needy. Government can't do that, it is too big and inefficient.
