Anybody bought any shotgun shells ?
« on: July 06, 2022, 10:57:45 AM »
Usually this time of year
the stores will start putting
out stuff in anticipation of the
upcoming dove season.
I'm going to have to eventually
restock my supply of shotshells
after giving a good bit away
to a couple of relatives when
things here were semi dicey a
while back.
I've not seen any stores putting
anything out yet even though
these stores around here usually
put back to school and dove
hunting paraphernalia out around
the same time

Anybody seeing hunting goods
being readied in your area  ?
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Get lots of them offered via e-mail. Prices seem to be running around $12 a box for 12 gauge. Ain't gonna be any cheap dove loads sold this year.

Just checked e-mail and had one from Bud's. Here is the link, I'm afraid this is about as good as ya gonna do on shotshells this year.

Yeah
I'll probably wait to see if the
local places have anything
There's not really much of any
of the places I've bird hunted
around anymore.
Most are all expensive gated
subdivisions or office complexes

Just bought 50 winchester slugs at 4.99 a box of 5 at Cabelas.

Fairly well stocked up on shotgun shells, I shoot 28 gauge and the boss lady shoots .410. Looked the other day and glad I stocked up when I did. 28 is going for around $15 a box and haven't found any .410 from the different places I normally order from.

I need some 16 gauge but haven’t seen any in about 3 years.

Tell the sporting goods department manager
at your local wally world to bring you some in
They usually have 2 or 3 boxes here of 16
Back around the first of the year I gave my
hunting buddy a gallon freezer bag full of
assorted 16 I got as part of a bigger gimme
bucket from a friend's uncle's estate house
cleaning.
That same hunting buddy finds partial boxes
of 16 at garage sales all the time
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Hmmm, I just might hit a few garage sales this weekend, I hadn’t thought to look there.

Yeah.  Don't look like there's going
to be any $4.59 dove loads any more,
but I don't have the places to go to
dove hunt where I could go through
40-50 shells each hunt
I used to have a place near the head
of the river to the east here that
when a flight started you could shoot
a box as fast as you could thumb them
in the tube and pop off 3 and repeat
until it was hot enough to go
" TIC TIC TIC TIC.  . . "  from the heat
of the shots

None of tha left around here anymore
