I'm a subscriber of that gentleman and had seen that video before.
Just another of the little things that "should" make people sit up and take notice of the fact that JESUS died on the cross for us, but, nonbelievers don't watch those kind of videos.

Help. I am missing the connection between the facts of the video and the belief that Jesus died on the cross.
Yes, the Romans did nail individuals to crosses, crucifying them. No doubt about that.

Yes, the Romans did nail individuals to crosses, crucifying them. No doubt about that.

The video was presented only to illustrate the manner of crucifixion at the time.  The manner of spiking the heels to the vertical timber, seems a more logical manner of doing it...unless they used a "foot wedge" to mount his feet.
Since no foot wedge was mentioned..there is a good chance that is the way our Lord and Savior was executed.

It seems their aim was to make His crucifixion as painful as possible.  When in extremis during crucifixion, the victim must pushup with his feet, in order to breathe.  A little bit of diabolical action, would have required him to push up directly upon the spikes, rather than a wedge (pillow block).

When I used to demonstrate at the state fair, I would forge out 2 0r 3 replicas of the spikes used on Jesus, then I would ask if there were any Pastors or Sunday School teachers in the observing gallery.  If so, they each got a replica spike..

Very few, even including unbelievers, dispute Jesus' crucifixion, after they have truly followed the many investigations that have been done involving His death.

in fact some unbelievers, after investigating closely, have been converted to CHRISTianity.

  Here's one of many:  https://www.christianitydaily.com/articles/11362/20210402/atheist-homicide-detective-investigates-christ-s-resurrection-and-gets-converted-when-he-finds-proof-it-really-happened.htm

Crucifixion was a very common capital punishment in ancient Rome.  After the Roman army put down the gladiator's War led by Spartacus, some 6,000 survivors were crucified along the highway from Rome to Capua.

Concerning Jesus' crucifixion..  The garden tomb (Gordon's Calvary) is located At Golgotha (the place of the skull),
directly below where Jesus was crucified..the top of the hill being bare rock.

"Infidels" can no longer go there, because it is a Muslim cemetery..but some who have been there in the past,
say there were holes in the rock above the tomb, that Romans carved as "sockets" for crosses.

According to Jewish law at the time..crucifixions could no be carried out within the city of Jerusalem.  At that time, Golgotha was immediately outside those walls.

Below, see Golgotha and the garden tomb below.

Not really; it was more to add further information as to how His crucifixion may have been accomplished

  From reply #5;

Doesn’t the Bible say no bones were broken on Jesus? The nails only went through his heels and didn't break them?

They were going to break his shins to strangle him but he had already died.

I offered that as a likely way the Romans carried out their executions.  In fact, if you think of it, that is probably the most likely way they carried them out.
Perhaps somebody was a bit careless in that recovered heel crucifixion.

However, it would make good sense, that they would drive the spikes through the heel area..

Remember the Achilles tendon?  It is perhaps the strongest tendon in the human body, and a spike could easily
be driven between the Achilles tendon and the bones of the leg/ankle.
That would be so diabolical.  Each time the victim pushed himself up for air, the spike would rip further up through his leg..until he could no longer lift himself..despite the pain.

See how easy it would be to drive a spike between Achilles and bone.

They were going to break his shins to strangle him but he had already died.

He had a metal spear thrust into his chest. He had already asked his Father to end it.  It’s written even some of those soldiers were deeply affected by this event. To them, they had executed an innocent man. The Romans only did the dirty work. The Jews , his own people had him executed. Even Pontius Pilatus wasn't really impressed with this.
Neither was his wife.

Yeah, when they speared him, instead of blood, water gushed out if I recall.  :)

Prophetically, it was water and blood..

This is the One having come by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One testifying, because the Spirit is the truth. (1John 5:6)

any way you's still have it wrong . at best the cross you picture is upside down .the short part of the cross in placed in a hole in the ground . it would be easier to stand up and easier to take down. and require less people to do so.

Nothing wrong with being “contrarian”……alternate points of view and unpopular questions serve a useful function in discussions, often clarifying or sharpening the focus of the discussion. Without some “contrarian” input, all you have is preaching to the choir.
The situation in these fora is that alternate viewpoints are treated as heretical rather than accepted and examined for their validity. The idea of the “short cross” is not new. There is also the idea that Christ did not carry the entire cross on his sad progress to Golgotha but only the cross beam (which would have been hoisted to and placed atop the vertical piece)

Nobody here knows what the cross Christ was crucified on looked like. Nobody here knows just how Christ's feet were nailed to the cross ✝️.

Nobody knows exactly where the tomb is where He was buried.

So its all "contrarian" speculation.  ::)

No, nothing wrong with contrarian, progress is often accomplished in that manner.  ..But continually contrarian,
to the point where it is univerally expected from the same source, seems a bit questionable..
