A water filter can't separate hydrogen and oxygen in water. :o

The vid may be a hoax, as it has some issues, but the fuel out of water bit is true, you can separate the hydrogen out of the water.  Here is a video with one such setup, not the best method/setup out there but at the end it shows how the hydrogen lights, showing that it is actually getting it out of the water.  The better ones have a much larger reaction surface to get more hydrogen out, which will be able to run an engine.  The issue is that many of these setups are slow in getting the hydrogen out, which may not be fast enough to feed an engine.  You could store it but that would be like having a bomb strapped to the engine.

It's a hoax.  They are using electrolysis to separate hydrogen and oxygen from the water molecules and using the hydrogen to power the generator - that part is legitimate.  The problem is that electrolysis takes more energy to separate the H and O from water than burning the resulting H produces.  The only reason this works at all in the video is that the generator's battery is being used to make up for the entropy loss.  Once the battery is depleted and whatever hydrogen remains in the system is used, the generator will stop.

So, really a very disingenuous and misleading video that has just enough truth to lend it legitimacy, but fails on a careful analysis.

Good post.
I'm not up on the science like yourself but you make sense.
If it was feasible to run an engine on water, one would be on the market.

I believe this is in the experimentation phase. You are in one so you should understand...

Put that engine under a heavy load and see what happens.

Let’s put you under a heavy load and see what happens. While we’re at it let’s put the Wright Brothers first flight under a heavy load...

I looked up HH+ compound and can't see how a polishing compound can separate out the hydrogen and oxygen from water.
If it really worked there'd be all kinds of gas burning contraptions coming on market.
And how would you compress the hydrogen??
And wouldn't you be making a bomb??

“And wouldn’t you be making a bomb??” Didn’t stop our (scientists) from testing the atomic bomb. One theory was a chain reaction would destroy our whole world. They did it anyways. We’re still here...

Let’s put you under a heavy load and see what happens. While we’re at it let’s put the Wright Brothers first flight under a heavy load..

I get tired, the Wright Brothers were using a fossil fuel. For a short duration. There is no comparison to be made.
Gasoline was gravity fed from a small quart-and-a-half tank mounted on a strut below the upper wing. The gasoline entered a shallow chamber next to the cylinders and mixed with the incoming air. Heat from the crankcase vaporized the fuel-air mixture, causing it to pass through the intake manifold into the cylinders.

Point being. Look how far we have come from (that) experimental phase.

The HH+ is a gimmick, which I am sure they will try and sell.  The fact that the contraption is not sustainable reminds me of the electric cars, eventually you will need to spend more money that could have just as easily purchased some unleaded fuel to run the engine for a longer period of time.

I agree with this. I do think this is possible at some point in time...

Justashooter....makes sense.
But I think they were demonstrating how easy it was to get the engine to run on hydrogen.
.
But, they claimed they were using HH+ chemical for the electrolysis.....not an electric hydrolysis..

The HH+ compound is a mixture of several chemical elements that can turn any engine to run on H² in a water-based engine with no effort.

Yes, it is easy to tune a gasoline engine to run on hydrogen.  This is nothing new.

What else is nothing new is that what they showed in the video was electrical electrolysis, nothing more, nothing less. They literally built a multi-plate electrical electrolysis device and connected it up to the starter battery for the generator.

This HH+ garbage is exactly that - garbage.  The device they showed, and the process it uses, is quite well understood.  There is nothing mysterious or innovative about it, and has nothing to do with HH+.
