Vehicle repossession's.
« on: July 19, 2022, 07:24:06 AM »
Are at a record high, as how many news agency’s and and credit score agency’s are saying. And have been reporting. Banks are backed up dealing with this one issue. People were employed under Trump. Not so much now under Biden. Or highly trained, educated, qualified People are now working at fast food drive through joints.  One Senator suggested
A freeze on repos , everything until we get this figured out. Biden has just about ruined our financial system.

I will check with the local banks, if they have a newer Tacoma, I will take over payments on one. ;D

So, your willing to take over the loan ?  I’m sure  the bank and former owner would like that.  Some of them were underwater in how much it would cost.

How much you want for your old Tacoma? Dealerships were being sneaky about the price, saying the increases were due to taxes, inflation , covid, and other things so they pushed it off on the consumer. Adding about 10k to the loan.

In most cases a bank will take less than the balance owed and sue the former owner for the rest.

The former owner didn't have the money in the first place. And if they have an existing mortgage it cant be touched.
Or any other property before this. Or any other existing loans. I read all about this on a what’s legal website.
Many working people lost their jobs under Biden. And have nothing to take.

The Banks were stupid to approve these loans anyway ,so they are at fault also. I saw this same thing after an oil field crash.and had hundreds of welding trucks they couldn’t sell. Carter was the President. And we are having another crash now.

Sure, because the loan would probably be cheaper than getting a new or used truck right now, and by what the market is asking for used trucks, I can probably get a good price for mine.  I sold my wives 13' Santa Fe for 8k in a private sale because I didn't want to sell it at market value, and it went to a young woman who had just gone through a rough patch, win-win.  But with my truck I will ask what I can for it, and use that money to build back the savings I would use to buy a new one, either way it will be a cash purchase, I am done with financing.

Biden is much worse than Carter. And twice as stupid.

they dont have much choice. Take a 5 year loan out of a new car and it takes at least 3 years before the vehicle is work as much as you owe. Take a 6 or 7 year load and is much longer. no way a bank its getting what owed on a 2 year old car by selling it or sending it to a dealer. Bank probably isnt wasting money on a lawsuit either. If you cant afford to make your car or house payment how are they possible going to get you to pay a lawsuit settlement? Its the old blood our of a rock thing.

If a lawsuit is won, they can garnish wages etc.
Unless a moratorium has been placed on those lawsuits.

You have to be fairly knowledgeable
about automotive technology and
repair if you want a decent deal on
a repossession or an auction car.
Years ago I used to help repo
on the weekends ( before the dealers
started staying open on the weekends)
There's lots of people that are up
for repossession that sabotage the
vehicles that are up for recovery.
I've seen people drain the oil, poke
holes in the transmission pans and
gas tanks, cut up all the underhood
wiring harnesses, run the engine with
the oil drained, vandalize the interior,
etc. etc.
There was a nice fishing barge
we were picking up, and the owner
had taken a knife and slashed the
whole interior upholstery and the
wiring. I'd put a bid in on it myself
until I saw the vandalism that had
been done.
There's also the unseen damage
that you might not know to look
for if you're just a driver and not
mechanically inclined.
The general manager of one of
the places I worked at fancied
himself as a wheeler dealer as
far as buying big time deals that
he thought he could buy low
sell high. While I was there he
bought more than a few in online
auctions that were crap.
He bought one truck that was really
good looking with a good looking
interior and a loud stereo.
When the technician got it up
on the lift in the shop, the frame
had been pieced together from
being totaled out, and everything
had been bent up and straightened
and welded up and was a different
color of paint underneath.
A junker in other words that couldn't
be sold as a certified used vehicle.
Obviously unsafe POS that was a
ghetto body shop jigsaw puzzle
truck
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I know some people who had a repo. All that happened to them was a bad credit rating.
For seven years ,And harassed by a collections agency. There are vast lots filled with repos they can’t sell.

A lot of EV,s are being repossessed when the owners found out the hard way what we already knew. Not to mention the truth about the battery cost. So here we are discussing hydrogen again. E-bike sales are booming, so are the kits to put on a regular bike. Especially the mountain bikes which are booming. Buyers like the way they look. 60 mile range if your on the battery, you can always use the peddles if need be. Jeep is offering them also, if your using the peddles it is also charging the battery.
