Madness or bluster?
« on: July 25, 2022, 02:01:05 AM »
Dome here have gone on and on, conjecturing upon Putin being sick and going mad. I have seen where even the Putin fans here, have brought up the subject.   For the most part, I have ignored those claims, figuring their origin to be pure propaganda.

Now, amid all the fuss and fury, apparently Putin announces a new "super weapon", called the Poseidon, a super torpedo nuclear driven and armed with a 100 megaton nuclear warhead.
At first I wondered.. Why a nuclear torpedo to destroy an enemy ship or submarine?  Why put 100 megatons of nuclear radiation in the world's  oceans, killing a substantial percentage of marine life..as it slowly penetrates the world's ocean waters/ ..And that would be from just one such an attack...

....But no, he claims these could be used on coastal cities..not only causing the usual nuclear blast destruction, but creating tsunamis ranging form 300ft to 1600 foot killer waves..depending upon which Russian you listen to.

Now it appears, Putin has threatened all of Europe with such destruction !

OI am surely he must realize that use of such a weapon would bring on swift destruction to his own country, as well as those he targets. Even in the very unlikely event, that there would be no retaliation (sure, and I'm King Kong),  the prevailing winds still blow from west to east...and poisonous fallout would cover the most densely populated part of his own country..

..And you perhaps can recall the last dictator, who in 1945, did not want to face defeat alone, but gave orders to destroy his country with him.  His version of "Gotterdammerung"..the apocalypse, of "twilight of the gods"..

Thank goodness his generals ignored that order!

I still consider it bluster, hoping the rumors of his madness are just that, rumors..  However such talk as threatening other nations....sounds too much like the Ayatollahs to be ignored.

  The Poseidon torpedo..

The use of such a weapon, even once, could bring on the the destruction of our civilization as we know it.

Why would anyone build such a weapon..then threaten other countries with it..except they have their own vision of a "Gotterdammerung"?

I'd guess bluster.
But being a KGB Colonel he may be insane.

I'm going with media bluster, that first report was posted in 2020, well before the Ukraine mess, and the second is just speculating that the threats to go nuclear include direct attack on Europe or the US with a weapon that may not even be active.

The Russians are talking about a doomsday end times scenario, because there's a circle of militant neocons talking about winning with a first strike attack on Russia.
.

Perhaps all those mentioned above have been dining on LOCO WEED !

Hey Dee!  ..Do you have loco weed on the ranch?  If so, give us the lowdown on the stuff..

I heard they were bringing back the Nuclear Hand Grenade, it has a 200 yard killing radius - unfortunately the average soldier can only throw it 40 yards...  It is know as a "single use weapon" ... the soldier and the grenade/

I suspect that those neocons have a different understanding of “winning” than you or I.

Neo Cons, Putin, WEC, Davos, Communism, wokeists, Bernie's 'democratic socialists', Trudeau, L'il Kim, BLM...

All the same horse, each a slightly different color, Hating us and our freedom, and competing with each other. IMO.
