Electric Rate Hike....how about you?

Well my electricity provider has just announced a  117% rate hike effective immediately. Announced by local TV  news, email, and newspapers.

How about GBO guys? Same thing?

They announced a price hike here, but not nearly that much, around $20 if I recall correctly.  But we get ours from the TVA, so that may be one of the differences.

Yep. (Ohio) My bill is $100 more this month than it was same month last year. Usage almost identical.

Like I have said, the grid has to be made more robust and ALL power sources have to be used.  This is not only to keep rates low, but to protect the grid from EMP's and any terrorist threats via hacking or bombs.  This has to be done before going to electric cars.  Hybrids would today be better.  In a worse case senario you can run the gasoline engine in park for about 30 minutes to charge the batteries for the electric acceleration.
