FINALLY! Found A Good Horse In New Mexico
« on: July 27, 2022, 02:37:57 PM »
I'm spending the night in Santa Rosa, Nd picking him up in Tularosa in the morning. Came and looked at him last week, and got the deal made this morning.

I think they call this little gray "Nacho". I think.

Finally got a chance to check ole Nacho out on cutting out of a herd of Cattle this morning. Needed a yearling steer penned so decided to try him by himself.

Got the steer cut out, moved him across the pasture, and penned him. Does anything you ask him to. Good horse, with a good attitude.  8)

I hope your employer is buying his oats and hay or do you just let him hunt down his own groceries? Hay burners burn a lot of hay if I remember correctly. It's been years since I owned a horse but he kept my measly 10 acres of pasture mowed down even with me feeding him. I kind of miss the onery cuss, especially since I am brush hogging the mess. I have say though that it is much cheaper to feed my little diesel tractor than it was him. That's the way with live help though. It eats constantly.

He doesn't cost me a penny. Ranchs either feed your stock horses and take care of shoes and vet bills,  or they furnish the horses and still pay their bills. 8)
