  Some of the old survivors of the Civil and Indian wars lived long enough to be interviewed on radio..

  Here is a man who aws both a Civil War and Indian Wars veteran.  He is being interviewed in 1930, by Capt Eddie Rickenbacker, WW1 aero hero. Hear him in his own words;

  You've heard from Billy Yank, now let's hear from Johnny Reb..

  This man lived for 102 years... until 1948.  He witnessed everything from the civil war, up through the first and second world wars, and also witnessed the beginning of television and the atomic age.

  Just imagine the developments this man observed in his lifetime..

Can't get any plainer than that, the South didn't fight to preserve or extend slavery, it was to defend State Rights.

Sometimes it is good experience to listen to the voices of yesteryear.

  Both were very enlightening, and I believe, speaking directly from their hearts.
