Fla.Woman killed by dogs
« on: August 23, 2022, 05:40:04 AM »
A 69-year-old Florida woman was found dead Sunday along a road with more than 100 dog bites, according to authorities and a local report.

Shirley Johnson was walking home from her son’s house on Bonifay Gritney Road in Holmes County on Saturday evening when three dogs attacked her, Holmes County Sheriff John Tate told WJHG-TV.

A passerby discovered the 69-year-old woman’s body nearly 24 hours later, Tate said.

Her body was covered in more than 100 dog bites, the medical examiner said.

Perhaps they should start putting the owners down along with their dogs when they attack and kill.
I have seen more people with Pit type dogs in the last few years, than ever before. Another plague is the number of dogs being brought into stores and other public places. Calling them service dogs. They are damn pets! Nearly every time I go shopping I see (Mostly women) with little fido in a shopping cart. Who wants to put their groceries in a cart that has had a dog's nasty butt in it?

The only question I have is how they know it was 3 dogs if she wasn't found for 24 hours after the fact.

And 10-4 on the grocery store dogs.

I did a poor job of copying the report. Here's more.

Three dogs believed to have attacked Johnson have been euthanized, according to the report. Neighbors reportedly said the dogs had a history of aggressive behavior.

No charges were pending against the dogs’ owner, according to Tate, who said there was no physical evidence that linked the dogs to the woman’s death.

Who wants to put their groceries in a cart that has had a dog's nasty butt in it?
Well really it's not that much worse than
the poor hygiene of some of the people
I've seen using the carts, and the filthy
welfare babies riding around in them.
Lots of people around here scratch their
heads and pits and butts and privates
as they go about their shopping, and
many times I catch a whiff of a filthy
diaper as I pass by some. Some of the
adults aren't much better with their
objectionable BO. Probably addicts
since they usually stink.
It's SOP for me to carry a small bottle
of hand sanitizer and a couple of disinfecting
wipes to wipe my chosen cart down
in the areas I'll be touching.
For a while, the cart boys were spraying
all the carts they brought back inside to
the cart area, but I think they no longer
do it. Should have been doing it all along
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

So, you think we should just add to that problem? Dogs, and perhaps tomorrow we let  pigs, monkeys or how about a service skunk. There are other reasons we should not be allowing people to bring pets into public places. Like ..dog fights, Karens fighting over their dogs, and male dogs peeing on shelves to mark. Flea infestation. The list can go on.

I agree that people and their pets have gone too far. Reality is that a dogs ass is more sanitary than yours and my mouth...

Pitbulls shouldn't be let run loose. They've caused problems in the past at my house and didn't last long. The little town I live in now has an animal control guy that works. Very few strays.

Can't seem to find an article stating the breed of the dogs, but I'd bet they were pits, or at least pit mix.
People have to have a screw loose that own pit bulls, and let them loose or around kids.  there was just a lady that lives in a town not far from me that was walking her dog, and a dog came out of someones yard and attacked her dog. She tried to break it up and the end of her index finger was bitten completely off at the first knuckle. Her dog almost died. the owner had the dog registered as a lb, but was actually a pit bull mix. The reason it was registered as a lab is because home owners insurance is higher with any kind of pit bull or rottweiler.  I'm sure his home owner insurance is going to get more expensive now, because the lady got a lawyer, and rightly so.

I've got a grandson that has 3 of'em for house dogs. He and his wife are wanting to start a family and I told him if he had a child he should get rid of the pitbulls.
His wife informed me that she grew up with pitbulls and they were perfectly safe around kids.

I dropped the subject, as their pitbull people and there's no telling them anything.

Bill, a poster says pastorp is deceased. Is that true, or just dumbass starting a tasteless rumor?

I don't know. I've not heard anything from Byron in a long time. Quite awhile back him, Bugeye and someone else all kinda make a pact or something to not post here anymore. They moved to some other site, unknown to me which site, and stayed gone awhile.

I've not seen a post by him here since. I have no contact info for him to find out either. I think him and Bugeye got close at one time so if he was still here he might could tell us. I think Byron lived not too far from Landowner down in FL, not sure if Richard has any insight on this or not.

Someone start a RIP farewell for PastorP, rather than hijack this "dog bite" thread.

I have to say, the only time I have ever drew my concealed carry gun was on a pit bull.

I agree you can't tell pitbull owners anything about pitbulls and how dangerous they are.  I always hear people say how nice and docile their pit is. The thing with pits is that all they need is a trigger to tear into a child or a person. They are much more easily triggered into an attack than most all other breeds.

Agreed,  but talking to a pitbull owner/lover, is like talking to a wall.
