11.2 Million Job Openings & No Takers!
« on: August 31, 2022, 01:29:06 AM »
Why go to work when Biden pays better to sit? I guess all these border jumpers will be able to find gainful employment to send money back to their families in their home countries. :-\

Hey, unemployment is only 3 1/2% and inflation only 9% according to the government so things are going good. For anyone that actually believes these numbers I have a nice beach resort home out under the caprock for sale at a nice price.

Just about every business in my area has a help wanted sign up. A lady that runs a nice deli in a small town near me has been working lots of hours, because she can't find anyone to work. Lots of restaurants and other business have limited hours because of lack of employees. Even if we wanted to start making things in this country again. We wouldn't be able to, because no one wants to work anymore. Never saw anything close to this in my life.

If America survives as the country
it was designed to be,  we'll have to
go back to merit based hiring, and
letting the talented and gifted to
accel and flourish, and the unskilled
and incompetent can either train
to advance their marketable skills,
or go lay in the alley somewhere and
cook their brains

Over the decades I've worked in the
automotive industry, I've seen many
talented and professional workers
pushed out of the business by pinhead
management types that don't know
the first thing about the business that
they're running.
If you have reliable knowledgeable
skilled personnel, they need to be
taken care of and not demeaned and
interfered with. Seen many a successful
business ran into the ground by
idiots that didn't stay in their office
like they should have and let the
qualified professionals go about the
business of keeping the lights on
and the doors open.
One of the few flourishing businesses
I've seen the last decade or two is
those who make banners that say
"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT " and
"UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP "

Real unemployment is 24.6%, while real inflation closer to 17%. Im not sure how that’s supposed to work out.

I'm sure if inflation, and unemployment were an issue, president Biden would have mentioned it in his unification speech last night.  ::)

The 24% unemployment rate comes from the Ludwig institute who calculates the rate differently than the government. To keep things relative they also say it’s the lowest rate since 1995.
Couldn’t find who is claiming that inflation rate.

I have never been so enlightened by a speech. He has shown me the errors of my way. I'm a changed person. It's as if this great MAGA weight has been lifted, and I now see the light. Praise be Brandon!

No, 24% is derived from the formula used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics until 1994 when discouraged workers were removed from the calculation for political reasons. I’m not familiar with Ludwig.

I delt with a lot of illegals back before I retired. They worked a full time job at a farm, or a feed yard, or a kill plant, and still managed to get welfare, government housing, and food stamps.
Texas finally got rid of food stamps, but they figured out how to get the food card to.

They live off us, and send their paychecks back to Mexico where it was spent by their families.
That's why Mexico never wanted a closed border.

Pretty much what I see
I recently found out that a couple of the
border jumpers occupying houses down
the block aren't having to pay utilities.
They're either getting them paid somehow,
or have the meters bypassed. They caught
one the street to the south that had his
buddy come bypass the electric meter.
The company came out and disconnected
it, but they bypassed it again afterwards.
The company finally came out and took
the cable from the pole down and took
it away along with the meter they'd got
from somewhere, probably from a new
house under construction where they
get most of their building materials

just before i retired they started putting in fancy digital meters. Everyone has one now in our area. It kind of puts a spot to that nonsense. IF its pulled it tells the control center imediatly. No need to even call in an outage anymore it tells the control center when power is interrupted. It also will send up a flag if your power consumption goes down drastically compared to the previous month. So even tapping in before the meter doesnt work anymore. Before that wed pull the fuse on the transformer if someone got caught. We even had one idiot that closed the fuse back in with a broom stick. Luckier then hell he didnt get fried trusting a broom handle to 7200 volts. After that one we just pulled the transformer down. Then the welfare state took effect and we couldnt even pull there power in the winter even if they were caught stealing or didnt pay there bills. Trick alot used was to run up a big bill untill summer and when they were about to get there power pulled theyd transfer the power into a girlfriend or buddys name and it would get them buy to winter again. There was people who didnt pay there bills ever doing that shuffle. We knew it and theyd laugh in our faces.
