Bloody, beastly leftists...
« on: September 02, 2022, 02:13:50 PM »
If they can't murder them before they are born, then they want to mutilate them as soon as they can get their mitts on them as soon as possible after they are born...
Barring that, the "educational system", is trying to turn them into perverts !

It would seem so, but parents don't "have to" send them to public schools. They "choose to".

some have no choice. they cant afford private schools and have to work so home schooling is out of the question. I had a decent job but while my kids were in school i was divorced and payed $$ child support. I couldnt have afforded private school and even if i had the time which i didnt i dont consider myself qualified to home school kids. Some of the math they brought home was stuff we had in advanced classes in high school.

The three school age kids in my immediate family are attending private school and the fourth will start pre-school there next week. The fifth needs another year to begin. The two oldest were failing most subjects with the lame zoom excuse for school during our so called pandemic but returned to A students soon after starting private school last year. I got to look over their shoulders during zoom classes and understood why their grades dropped so badly. Neither of their teachers should have been allowed anywhere close to a school.

The national average to put a child through elementary private school is $11,146 per year for six years that is $66,876. Send them to a private school in grades 7 thru 12 and the average is 15,762 per year. those 6 years would cost parents $94,572. So a private school for one child until 12th grade would cost over $100,000 Not many families that can afford an extra 100K to send their child to a private school. Next option would be home school. With today's inflation most families need both parents working to pay the bills.

One of my great grandsons started kindergarten at Christian school this past week. Ironically, it is at the same school (K-12), where I was chairman of the board of education..decades ago.

Yes, there are some who cannot afford it, but surely there must be some who could pass up the beer, toys and
trinkets..if they really wanted to send them.

Way back when I was chairman, we decided we would keep tuitions down as low as possible, so as to allow
almost any who wished, to attend.  I am delighted to see they have held to this standard.

Kindergarten is $1400 for th eyear, and I think grades1-12 is $2K.

My grandson lives outside that public school district, so he will also take on providing transportation for his son.

Much depends upon what you want...and how much you want it !

I have to wonder how many people have a Christian based school within a reasonable driving distance that cost 2K a year? My guess is less than 5%

Possible, but if they do have one in such a location...it is a great alternative..
Reasonable driving distance?  My grandson drives his son about 30 miles round trip..guess he figures his son is worth it.

One of the beauties..they start with the pledge to the US Flag, then to the Christian flag..then a prayer before class.
Wholesome teaching, and I have great confidence in Veronica his teacher, because I have known her since she was a child.

I get what you mean IG, but most people don't have a school like that within 100 miles of where they live. Not one that cheap anyway.  30 mile round trip is actually a close commute in today's standards.  To be fair our government should be giving tax payer dollars to private schools also. Not just the big unionized public schools. We all know if that happened there would be strings attached, and they wouldn't be private schools anymore.  Also government can't train the next generations up to be subjects and brainwash them without a heavy hand through using tax payers dollars.  Government funded schools are one of the worst things that ever was created this country.

There is a all boys private school about 7 miles from me that is popular nationwide. Its 9-12, and its around 50K a year if your child boards there, and about 40K if they commute. The name of it is Kiski Prep.  I guess the idea of keeping it an all boys school since its founding in 1888, is so the teen aged boys are not distracted by girls walking around in tight pants, and short skirts. Or just the basic boy/girl attracting at those ages.

" Wow!  That school is far too expensive..

I don't know that school, but if it is like most "prep" schools..it is a school where they "prepare" rich kids for
entering the Ivy league universities.  So of course, a Christian may not be happy with the private secular
   school or it's 'values'.
Those that room there, are doing so, because their parents want ship them off to a baby-sitter venue.

I had a friend in grammar school named Jeremy... When we entered 7th grade, I didn't find Jeremy around.
I found out later that his affluent parents, had shipped their only child off to a "military" boarding school.
Apparently his mother could more easily enjoy her "social circles", without a kid around.

I have met and talked with Jeremy a couple times since then..and he seems still messed up a bit.

When I was the chairman, we had discussions about government support.  We decided that if it came in the form af  government check to the school each year..count us out !

When government writes a check to any organization..soon they want their mitts in it !  That is why I so often say, "let the money follow the child".
Each child should have a voucher for education expenses, so they can turn it in to the school of their parent's CHOICE.  To be made good out of collected tax funds.

If such a system were actually set up, quality schools would pop up all over the place..and at far less cost than public schools, with their cranky, spoiled, union-owned teachers.

If Each student were provided the same amount..they could make their best deal on education...and if they save on yearly tuition, the change could be banked, and applied toward his/her higher education..

That way, college students would perhaps, not have to be bailed out..
