Monofilament fishing line
« on: September 02, 2022, 04:36:25 PM »
Well I finally ran out of the big
spool of Trilene line I've been
using for a long time.
I have most of a big spool of
30 pound and a smaller spool
of 30 pound left.

For those that use monofilament
line, what have you been using?
I'm not considering any braid.
I've used some in the past, and it's
not for me. I'll  be using mono
as long as monofilament
is available and affordable

I'm a Trilene guy like you.  The Big Game version seems just as good as the XL or XT, and it's cheaper.

Used Big Game of various sizes for
a lot of years. Mostly green, but some
clear.

I use trilene and toss it after 3 years and change it on my reals every year. Ive seen old fish line even still on the spool weaken over time. Especially those bargain priced fishing line. Even new theres a big differnce in trilene and the generic crap you can buy in walmart. Im a little out of touch with the newest and greatest but trilene has never let me down.

Woops- I just had the thought that
pretty much all fishing lines are
polymers derived from petroleum.
I guess that's another thing we'll
be up **** creek with  :(
