Looking at E bikes
« on: September 04, 2022, 12:31:07 PM »
The mountain bikes with big tires for cruising around my property and hunting. Some of them high end are very nice. But expensive, we all might be looking into things like this soon the way things are going.Saw one today that was awesome. 20 mile range and if you peddle it charges the battery.

My thought is more range is better, like 40 to 80 miles; or get spare battery packs....
A 20 mile range might only be an hour or less of riding time.
And wouldn't it be nice if you could recharge with a solar panel(s)?
.

That’s one way, 80 to go to town and back. Rated 100.But if your peddling your charging the battery. Some of them are very fancy.

Nobody has mentioned that none
of us may be able to afford electrical
power if the nation continues on the
path that it's on.
There may be a time that there's no
alternative to walking.
Pedalling might not be an option for
charging, and generators and solar
and other factory-built things are
finite and will definitely eventually
need parts and service or possible
complete replacement.
I would imagine that if you need to
get somewhere in the future, you'll
have to walk or sit wherever you're at
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

thats one thing most people dont even understand. This electric car bs is going to make ALL of your electric use more expensive. The electrical industry is kind of rare in this country. Prices are controlled by the government. The public service commission decides what you will pay. It shouldnt surprise you that the democrats want you to be dependent on electricity. Control the electricty in this modern world and you control everything. Think about how many hours a day your not using it for something. Everything from the clock on your night stand to eating, running your furnace even pumping your gas. EVERYTHING you eat has taken electricity to make. Even if you look at eating wild game. You still need a rifle that was produced with electricity, ammo? same. Getting to the woods, processing it, storing it. Heck what business could stay solvent without it. Pretty much zero. This swing to electricity for green energy is a joke. It causes as much pollution. The real thing is it gives the socialists control of your life. They know modern man cant survive without it.

The fable of everybody who wants one, having an electric  car, is just that...a fable !  They have no intentions
that we eventually swap, one-for-one, for an electric car.

We have to hear, see and note, what the WEF has already said their plans are for we, the "unwashed masses"..

   Here's their own explanation...

   https://fism.tv/wef-calls-for-end-to-private-car-ownership-as-organization-continues-to-beat-drum-of-great-reset/

From the article:  Ending private car ownership “can reduce ownership of idle equipment and thus material usage,” the WEF said in its July 18 paper.

  Also from 2018..
In 2018, the WEF revealed its desired end game with several radical “predictions” for a future world where “You’ll own nothing and be happy…whatever you want, you’ll rent,” and where “Meat will be a special treat.”

         TALK ABOUT "CONTROL FREAKS' !!!

Hey lefties on GBO ... Do you really Want to serve these potential dick-taters?

What of their abundance have we seen them sacrifice, "for the good of the environment"?

Have they given up a single Bentley, Porsche, yacht or mansion?  Have they sold off any of their stocks or vast property holdings to aid the poor in India or Africa?

You lefties can admire such self-centered, egotists ..but I sure don't !

Starting to see them around here. Good way to commute and not get all sweaty. I don’t mind them on the streets or pathways but am kind of bothered when I’m cranking up a mountain bike trail and one of them is behind me wanting to pass. What I really don’t like is kids riding them, too much speed for inexperience on the roads.

yup there hot with the hippy lib tourists up here lately on the federal forest and state bike trails. Wife sees them all the time know when shes PEDDLING her bike. Makes me scratch my head. They talk getting  back to nature but are to lazy to peddle a bike. They rather cause the polution they scream about and add to global warming charging them every day. Kind of makes them hypocrites. Yup throw them on a rack on there jeep wrangler or toyota land cruiser and even range rovers and waste gas driving to the trail and waste electricity when they get there.

used to have nieghbors like that. They paid to have there lawn mowed, snow removed and even had a housekeeper come in once a week. Claimed they didnt have time to do it. But every afternoon after work both wen to the local fitness center for an hour. Weekends they went bicycling or kayaking. Used to laugh at them. The guy rarely had a shirt on in the summer. The wife was half naked all the time to trying to show off there bodys. Ended up in a divorce and the sale of the house. She looked so good she attracted someone else. I knew it was an eventuality because she even hit on me once and im 20 years older then she was. Used to laugh at him. When he first moved here he came over and my harley really caught his eye. A week later he bought a brand spanking new one for near 20k. Never owned even a moped before. Must have spent 3k buying leathers and bandanas to look harley. He had that bike for 3 years and i think it had 4k on it when he left. But he wore harley shirts with the sleaves cut off every weekend to look cool and show off his muscles. ended up selling the bike about a year before they split but still wore the shirts and even his harley jacket all the time.  Nothing but a poser. Last I heard she ran off to colorado with her new boyfriend and he took a job in San francisco. didnt surpise me much. Real laugh was they had a wine tasting party at there house on day and he actually asked me if the wife and i would come. I think he got a bit flustered when i broke out laughing. Sure dont miss those phony idiots!

From what I've seen, most of
the bikes bought spend most of
their life on a trailer or pushed
back and forth between the garage
and the driveway where they get
a wash and wax and get pushed
back in the garage.
The bigwigs at one place I worked
had a man load up their bikes and
transport them across country to
different rallies and gatherings
while they flew there in comfort
and would mount up and ride into
town as if they'd spent all these
hard core days and hours on the
road getting there.
Oh well.  . .
There's all kinds of posers in
the world.  .

Lloyd: “ Control the electricity  in this modern world and you control everything...”

However true that is, it is not news. We have, the world-at-large has, been evolving into ever greater electrical dependence. As much as we like to attribute bad things and evil intentions to the “demonrats”, I am pretty sure that growing dependence on electricity cannot be laid entirely on their doorstep. This situation continues to develop. I don’t see it as bad or good, just another development as we move forward.
E-bike range.      It Urban areas, Twenty miles is fine. Out in more rural locations, yeah, you need at least that or more.

Did that guy have tattoos on his arms? Or elsewhere, same with his wife. Did she work as a pole dancer?

A good electric bike is expensive.  The one thing going for them hunting is being quiet.  I have seen where you can quietly go on a trail to get to your hunting location.  Then with an attached trailer, you can haul out your deer using one.

There are 2-3 different kinds of ebikes.  If you hunt with one, you need one that you can walk beside and it goes about 2mph while you are pulling a deer in the trailer.  Walking beside it takes your load off so more power is used to pull the deer.

Some ebikes, less expensive ones 750 watts or less only assist you while peddling, like uphill.  Some can pull all the time with variable speeds.  Some are built for town use, some for off road.

I would like a fat tire ebike for hunting with the game trailer.  However, it is $3-4,000 dollars.  The good think is in some national forest areas they are allowed, where as a gasoline 4 wheeler or motorcycle is not.  This is due to noise disturbing the animals or other people hunting or hiking.  Range for a fat tire ebike is only 30-40 miles.  That is a lot further than walking in or out, and trying to pack out game.  Maximum speed is about 20 mph.

Ebikes are illegal in Pa on state game lands. In other words they don't want hunters using them for hunting purposes.  Class 1 Ebikes are only legal on rail trails. Although if riders are riding a class 2 or Class 3 Ebike there is not anyone to police this. Class 1 Ebikes are pedal assist only and the assist kicks out at 20mph. Class 2 bikes have a throttle and do not need to be peddled to move forward.  They also have a max speed of 20mph. You can pedal a class 2 if you want, but it is not necessary to ride. A class 3 can have a throttle or it may not. Depending on the state laws.  The biggest difference in a class 3 ebike is that pedal assisted power continues until 28mph.

The more expensive ebikes tend to have a mid drive motor compared to a hub drive motor. Before buying an ebike for hunting, its best to check state laws.

"But if your peddling your charging the battery."

If I wanted to pedal I would just buy a regular bike and save a lot of money.  ;D Don't know these will fly in NM except on designated trails as they have motors. Not having any interest I have never checked the laws.

Why does it bother you that they want to pass?  Just let them go ahead, so long as there is a safe way to do so.

Where are your mountain bike trails in the UK?  Lakes District?  Scotland or Wales?
