I like deer hunting in the snow.

No snow here yet either...so much for weather reports.

I prefer to hunt in January in Alabama than October or November.  Snakes are crawling to find winter dens, fleas and ticks are all over the deer.  Christmas and Thanksgiving, the woods are full of hunters, especially on public lands.  After Christmas, the kids who get rifles are itching to use them.

. . .   After Christmas, the kids who get rifles are itching to use them.

I've always referred to 9:30-10 AM
on the deer rifle opening day in this
region as the "new glock field testing day"
A good many that "hunt " only stay out
for a couple of hours, and are so itchy
you can tell the time by the distant
POP. . . POP POP POP.  . POP POP
POP POP POP POP POP POP.  . .POP

Hunting public I always used to look
forward to that time of day. You could
hear the trucks cranking and the deer
would get up and start moving around
shortly after
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .
