..An eye opener...
« on: October 31, 2022, 10:49:06 AM »
You may wonder why the world has gone nuts in recent years..  There is a good possibility that Rabbi Jonathan Cahn's book "THE RETURN OF THE GODS"...may well have the answer.  Cahn says that it appears the ancient false gods may be staging a return.

   In Luke, chapter 11 we read how when a man is freed from a demon's possession, he must fill himself with the REAL God..or the demon, seeing it's former home empty, will gather 7 demons more wicked than himself...and return to retake possession. (vs 24-26)

   Our America was once quite well devoted to the real God, but in recent years (since the 1960s), some hav8e taken a different trail, flirting with the false gods.  Cahn says there is at the start, a false trinity..

1) Baal..  "the possessor", whose main duty is to possess those who have turned away from the real God., and convince them to follow him.

 2) Ishtar, AKA .. Astarte or Ashera..The wife/consort of Baal..  Her specialty is promiscuity, perversion and sexual confusion.  Besides promoting licentiousness, she also claimed the power of changing women into men..and vice versa.  All perversions are "right up her alley".

 3)  Molech..  Son of the evil pair listed above, demands that parents sacrifice their children to him. In ancient times it was by "passing them through the fire"..as a burnt offering. .....Is today's practice of abortion, the modern equivalent?

   I have said here before, that the nuttiness of today's world looks very much like demonic possession.  Check out Rabbi Jonathan Cahn.

I never try to complicate evil with "categories", or "names". Evil is "evil".

God's examples of evil throughout the Bible were to me, illustrations of "where to look". Parables, stories of tribes, kingdoms, sects, ect are lessons in situational awareness in all areas of life, and were teaching aids created by God to educate the Christian in recognizing "evil".

IG: “ "THE RETURN OF THE GODS"...ma well have the answer.  Cahn says that it appears the ancient false gods may be staging a return.”
Given the way that you have written that, it appears the Cahn’s book gives credence to the existence of the ancient gods.
Is that really the case?

First you have to figure out what a "Messianic jew" is. It is an "invented" religion of a conglomeration of beliefs taken from Judaism, and Christianity. The Jewish religion denounces them as apostates,  but some Christians believe them Christians out of ignorance, while the "Messianic jew" himself claims not to be Christian.

It is man made, much like "mormanism" . That is where the confusion comes from. It is a false religion, and Cahn is as close to being a "rabbi" as you or I.

Some Christians dwell on "end times prophecy" and scoop up anything, written by anybody, concerning the matter.

God on the other hand says nobody knows when the end will come, and simply says "be ready".

But some as I said, are into "end times prophecy authors", which the authors have learned will make them rich.

I doubt that the names of the old or new gods are important in this discussion, but it is important to realize that the Devil and his minions are behind all of that is going on. The Bible tells us that he is the ruler of the world at this point in time.

The Jewish religion denounces them as apostates,  but some Christians believe them Christians out of ignorance, while the "Messianic jew" himself claims not to be Christian.
    * ..And of course, the Pharisees said Christianity was a "man made" religion, following a "mixed up mystic" from Gallilee...but nevertheless, the Pharisees are gone and the faith in Jesus is alive and well.
   Of course, the bulk of the Jews reject the beliefs of the Messianic Jews, they also reject our belief in Jesus as our Savior.  I am troubled that you would call other Christians "ignorant", simply because you do not agree with their exegesis.

It is man made, much like "mormanism" . That is where the confusion comes from. It is a false religion, and Cahn is as close to being a "rabbi" as you or I.

    Sorry you see it that way, have you done a complete study of the subject?  It is clear that these pioneering Jews have accepted Jesus as being their savior..thus they are called "messianic".  Sure, they have some different practices an customs...but then the very early Christians, had some practices and customs which echoed the Jewish culture.

Some Christians dwell on "end times prophecy" and scoop up anything, written by anybody, concerning the matter.

   ..Some do, but not all, certainly not myself..

God on the other hand says nobody knows when the end will come, and simply says "be ready".

  Did you hear me offer any hour, day, year or century ? I think not!

But some as I said, are into "end times prophecy authors", which the authors have learned will make them rich."

 Some are into that, but you won't see me handing them any money..

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The OT prophets predicted that;
  The Jews would be regathered in the land(Isaiah 11:11-12)
   The state of Israel would be re-established  (Isa 66:7,8)  (Ezek 37:21-22)
  The Hebrew language would be revived (Zeph 3:9)
 ...And in the New Testament, Paul himself tells us that the Jews would be saved..
25 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers:[a] a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
    he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
27 “and this will be my covenant with them
    when I take away their sins.”      (Romans 11:25-27)
  Note: the "fullness of the gentiles" is the church age...  Hermeneutics tells us that scripture divides history in roughly 2,000 year
   increments, which implies that the church age could be coming to a conclusion. *So the salvation of the Jews is off to a modest start,
  complete salvation could take 10, 100 or a thousand years.
  BTW; None of this has anything to do with the Mormons..
First of all, I wasn't addressing you in my post to  at all.
Second, your breaking down of my post emphasizing you didn't say this, and you didn't say that was silly. I never said you did. I didn't even mention you.
I was talking to dg, not ig.
The Messianic jew religion showed up in the United States around the 1890s. They will tell you themselves, that THEY ARE NOT CHRISTIAN.
They refuse to abandon Judaism, and have taken the Jewish religion and twisted it together with Christianity. The two will not mix. But that's in fact what they've done, and therefore have created their own religion, just as the Mormons have.
If you want to deny the  Biblical facts, then proceed. I don't care, and am not at all surprised. Your incapable of ever admitting fault, and still think Oliver North is a patriot.
BTW Takin my comparison of Messianic Judaism to Mormonism as man made religions out of context was equally silly.
  Certainly..false gods..  who are actually Satan's demons posing as some sort of god to those who may be willing to follow them.
    "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light."  (2 Cor 11:14)
Not true. False gods were figments off mans' imagination. No where in scripture does God say that any of the "false gods" actually existed. In fact scripture teaches the opposite. One group worshiped a "golden calf". A man made "golden calf" congered up through mans' imagination.
To worship these imaginary "false gods" was a sin against the one true God, and to say these "false gods" were demons is scripturally baseless.
Were these "false gods" satanicly inspired? Due to the fall of Adam, man is born with a "sin nature", so to say that there was demonic activity "around" the worship of these "false gods" is a gimme, but so is "ANY OTHER SIN"
Furthermore, there is no instance ANYWHERE in scripture, where a demon was portrayed as a "false god".
Also, there is no instance ANYWHERE in scripture, where an angel, fallen or  not, was ever portrayed as a "god", false, or otherwise.
  Figments of imagination?  Not the way God sees it !...
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;   (Exodus 20:2-6)
To worship these imaginary "false gods" was a sin against the one true God, and to say these "false gods" were demons is scripturally baseless.
  Sure it is a sin against God..and that is a major reason that Israel and Judah both spent years under foreign captivity.  I did not say that the stone, wood, metal idols were demons, but they were inspired by demonic forces.
Were these "false gods" satanicly inspired? Due to the fall of Adam, man is born with a "sin nature", so to say that there was demonic activity "around" the worship of these "false gods" is a gimme, but so is "ANY OTHER SIN"
   You say no demonic activity associated with the idols?  Again, not as God sees it..
     "20 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. 22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? "..(1 Cor 10:20-22)
Source: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Idolatry
Furthermore, there is no instance ANYWHERE in scripture, where a demon was portrayed as a "false god".
 " No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons."  (1Cor 10:20)
   " They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded. " (Deut 32:17)
Also, there is no instance ANYWHERE in scripture, where an angel, fallen or  not, was ever portrayed as a "god", false, or otherwise."
  Only the fallen ones, who are essentially, demons..
  I see that for your information, you went to a sponsored website...."must be true, I saw it on the internet!"
  As you read scripture, pay note to whether the verse is speaking of God or god...
     whether the term is capitalized or not..makes a difference.
