You have to keep in mind that not
everybody that will fish at a place
like that has the knowledge and
skill to actually catch those fish,
so if 210 people got there ahead of
yall it doesn't necessarily mean that
all the fish will be caught

I always cook saltwater trout in the
normal fried fish fashion
Those stocker rainbows get smoked
and made into cracker spread

Almost 40 years ago, I fried up some trout, store bought and found as they are related, trout taste like salmno, salmon taste like trout, I like neither. I would not mind catching one though.

13 years ago, a gent was fishing the Mississippi 40 miles South of here, he caught a 16 inch Brown Trout.
Took pictures and put it back; they, fishery people, figured as there is a small creek that once was stocked with trout, this was close to the mouth of that creek, 17 years earlier, a few had survived and produced young ones.

It is catch and release for me. I use an ultra light spinning rig and they put up a pretty good tussle with it. I don't care for the taste of trout but they are fun to catch.

I miss my summer visits to northern NM in July and trout fishing in the upper Pecos and the Mora where it runs into the Pecos but those days are long gone.

Great  fun catching trout on ultra light gear. A 10 incher  can double the pole over!

I caught a 16 incher on my little ultra light rig out of the upper Pecos once. It was quite a fight because the water is swift coming down the mountain. I just slipped the hook loose and let him roll right back into the river to fight another say. I was talking to a guy that came by that afternoon when I was fishing close by and when he asked how I was doing I told him about that fish and that I had let it go. He looked at me like I was nuts. To him I probably was. The limit on trout in NM is 5 per day and 10 in pocession or was at that time. I have seen the same person come in with five fish on a stringer and do that four or five times in one day. Laws or sportsmanship mean nothing to some people. It's catch all I can and keep them and to heck with everyone else.
