IWI MASADA 9mm polymer framed striker-fired pistol was developed in order to provide an advanced solution to the modern battlefield requirements. Much more than just another striker-fired pistol, the MASADA features a low profile barrel for reduced perceived recoil. Fully ambidextrous controls and enhanced ergonomics which provide a natural and instinctive pointing grip angle. Three interchangeable wrap around back-straps coupled with the deep beavertail enabling the MASADA pistol to fit a wide variety of hand sizes.

MASADA’s frame is made of high strength, impact resistant fiberglass reinforced polymers. Like all IWI firearms, it is built to withstand and endure all types of military use and abuse in extremely harsh environmental conditions.

MASADA utilizes a modular serialized high grade steel trigger mechanism housing that can be easily removed, allowing simple and easy disassembly and maintenance.

MASADA’s trigger is designed to enhance the shooter’s accuracy and safety. The MASADA trigger has a 6 lb trigger pull. with a clean and crisp break and a positive reset. Featuring a built-in trigger safety, the pistol will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.

MASADA is an optics-ready platform and is designed to be used with the Trijicon RMR, Vortex Venom, Leupold Delta Point Pro, and Sig Romeo1 optics.  Respective adapter plates and screws for each of these optics allow the optic to mount directly to Masada’s slide.  Mounting any optic other than those listed here will risk damaging the firearm.  Please contact IWI US Customer Service with questions or for details.

  By the name Masada, I assume it is an Israeli designed weapon...and probably very good..

   ..But of course, our new handgun is a very advanced and versatile weapon..  Besides; I know well, on a very personal level,

looks like an M&P with a glock trigger. price is right. If suggested is 480 id bet you will be able to pick them up for under 400. But i just dont need another 9 or for that matter another handgun.

  When the new, modular pistol was accepted for the military, they cut the cartridge selection from 3 to 2 calibers.

  They were concerned that while trying to maintain ammo supply of 3 cartridges for a single pistol, would be a logistics negative,
  for the small benefit it would provide.

Israel Weapon Industries makes the Masada,
I'm sure this pistol would be right up there with Glock, M&P, Sig, or a host of other great Semi handguns. The Israelis wouldn't settle for anything less for their military.

From time to time, I've considered going to a Sig in 9mm, because 9mm is more plentiful than 357 mag. But at 73, I'm not chasin bad guys anymore, and I ain't lookin for a fight.

I've talked to friends that have actually fought with an issued 9mm, and although they won the fight, they weren't impressed.

I've been in a couple of disagreements, one with a 357 mag, and one with a 45acp. I wasn't impressed AT ALL, with the 45acp, but thoroughly pleased with the 357 mag.

So I'll continue to carry the 357 mag. In my opinion, it doesn't matter how well the gun is made, it what's is coming out of the barrel is inferior.

My opinion, and I'm not lookin for agreements.

   My grandson said that wih his experience in Iraq...the 9mm was not a solid stopper..  ..But with something besides hardball ammo,
   it might be far different.

  Incidently..they must have "won the fight" Dee...or you wouldn't have been talking to them ! ... just funnin' with you, Dee.. 

   Incidently;  I have a USMC photo by Sgt Sturkie, showing a situation where my grandson was called upon to dispatch a sniper across
  the Euphrates river.
   It was either him or Cpl Mahan, who had to do the job, since they were the designated snipers for their unit.  grandson happened
   to be at hand...
   

   He won..or he would not have come back..

The 357 has a lot going for it. Like the old 4570,You can load it from mouse to moose and everything in between. Target shoot it with 38 special, and carry with 357 for more serious stuff. And revolvers are just more dependable period. All guns have their advantages and disadvantages, and Depending on where you are, and what your doing I think most center fire hand guns with the proper load will do the job in most cases if the shooter does his or hers. We have some great improvements on ammo today compared to what it was when I was growing up.
