Former MT'ers, take note...

I found something interesting.  The folks at Marlin still want the old MarlinTalk members' feedback for their research.  On their homepage, click on the 'firearms' link at the top of the page, then click on 'new products' or 'lever action centerfires' or one of those links.  The old MarlinTalk link will appear at the top of the page.  That will take you to what used to be MT, but it's been replaced by a poll.  You have to log in with your old screen name and password (or you can register if you weren't a member before).  They're asking what brand name you most often associate with side by side shotguns.  Maybe they're looking into making a new model or something, I don't know.

But it seems kinda cheap and hypocritical to me to kill MT and make us all leave, but then ask us for our input to help them with their marketing research.

Sorry, Marlin.  You can't have your cake and eat it, too.  I didn't participate in the poll. :noway:

I saw that also.  Well, I'm not holding any grudges.  After all, they are just a company trying to make business decisions and more money.  I'm cozy here at Graybeard's nowadays.  I'm also really glad that so many of us folks have managed to stay in touch.  We've been like family for years now.

I saw that poll a while ago and voted in it.

I completely agree with you, BamBams.

We had a free ride there for quite some time, and they had a right to shut it down. In any event, the shut down led to my finding this place. The cloud had a very definite silver lining.

Oh, initially, I was real ticked off and vowed not to buy any of their products again, but the initial angry reaction gave way to more rational thinking. In fact, I'm eager to lay my hands on an NEF Sportster in .17HMR.

I voted in that poll too. I am still wondering what that was all about and why? :?

My guess is they are considering another run of the LC Smith side by side, that the Marlin Firearms Co. used to make. I have no insider info, as they don't consult with me on anything, (go figure?)  but that's my best guess.
Have you guys checked out Marlinowners.com recently? I se they now have a message posted at the old site saying the new server is online, and the site will be back up soon!
