So naive, when the Iron Curtain came down..
« on: December 02, 2022, 04:31:05 AM »
Ever wishing...  WW1 was "the war to end wars".. and they formed the League of Nations which failed. ..Then came WW2, followed by the UN.  ..still wars !
Then when the Iron Curtain came down, and many folks thought we would finally have world peace.

Never mind, that scripture tells us there will be no peace, until the Prince of Peace returns..

Now, it seems Ergon wants to start wars in his drive to rebuild the old, now moribund Ottoman Empire..

I wouldn't be surprised at that...and I wouldn't be surprised if NATO let him go.  He seems to be changing Turkey back to a Muslim nation, so there is a question where his loyalties would lie..were NATO to get into it with Iran, for instance.

I think trying to rebuild the Ottoman Empire is tipping his hand.

Turkey has been a Muslim nation since the fall of Constantinople in 1453.

Changing Turkey into a Muslim country? LOL, I don't think he has to change much, since Turkey is already  98%+ Muslim.

..And as an official radical Muslim state, they will likely eradicate what little "other" remains.

I wouldn't be surprised if Turkey eventually moved into Syria and even Iraq.  The Greeks hate the Turks, and Bulgaria is, I think in Nato and a Christian country.  Also seems like the former communist Eastern Europe is more Christian than Western Europe.

I believe you are correct DD, There are many active missionaries in the east European countries, and they are
    having great success.
On the other hand, western Europe has wandered from the path over the last few decades, and shows no sign of
wanting to find their way back.
There are small enclaves here and there (often sponsored by an American), who are preaching and teaching
the Bible, but even they seem to be having a difficult time .

Perhaps since in eastern Europe, they are more recently come out of Marxist serfdom, they are looking for the freedom offered by Jesus..
