Who remembers this old song?
« on: December 22, 2022, 05:17:58 AM »
It has been around many years, likely from the late 1800s.  A song about a "little brown church", here the Statler bros tell us .    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1zFJ21OcEg

Apparently still going strong..and used for special events.  The claim over 76,000 weddings held there. Big number for a little church in rural Iowa.  A tourist destination.. here's their Facebook page.

Perhaps somebody who lives near there can comment..

It's a grand old song.  I recall as a kid singing- it a few times.  Back then, I guess I thought it was just a song, with no historical church behind it !
