Small town to hold a "Thomas Flyer" day..
« on: January 03, 2023, 02:23:15 AM »
A local small town will hold a Thomas Flyer day event.  It is where I lived my young life near, and graduated high school from.

A local man George Schuster, was the driver/mechanic on the winning Thomas Flyer, in the first 'round the world', auto race.  Called "the New York to Paris race, it went round the world to arrive there, and did it in 169 days in 1908..

The Thomas Flyer was built in Buffalo, NY, and when they decided to enter the race, George was selected by the president to be driver/mechanic.

My younger brother had George's daughter as one of his grade school teachers.

Cool, very, very cool.
Kind of stuff I would go to when I was younger, if I could.
