URGENT: Stop the ATF’s pistol ban
« on: January 16, 2023, 12:33:32 PM »
On this past Friday the 13th, the ATF massacred your God-given rights by finalizing Biden’s pistol ban.

This executive action will ban up to 40,000,000 pistols with attached “stabilizing braces.”

The ATF is forcing millions of gun owners like you to choose among the following options:

❗Rebuild your firearm at your own cost

[Register it with the federal government]

❗Destroy your own LEGALLY purchased firearm

❗Go to jail for up to 10 years and pay up to a $250,000 fine

…But Gun Owners of America has another option for you.

We need your help urging the House and Senate to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which allows Congress to pass a Joint Resolution of Disapproval to REPEAL an unconstitutional executive action imposed by a government agency.
Please add your name to our pre-written letter urging your Representative and two Senators to REPEAL the ATF’s pistol ban

Biden and Kamala just secured a 51-seat majority in the Senate, so you may be thinking this CRA would be dead on arrival, if it passes the Republican-controlled House…

But here’s the good news: it only takes 30 Senators to force a CRA vote in the Senate.

Of course, that still doesn’t make it a guarantee.

We’ve seen how quickly allegedly “pro-gun” Senators can fold under pressure from the media and well-funded attack ads.

That’s why we need our members like YOU to light a fire under every House member and Senator to ensure a CRA is forced in Congress.

The 1934 National Firearms Act (NFA) is the underlying law which gives the ATF the foothold to ban millions of legal guns – guns that were originally deemed permissible by the ATF!

Thankfully, in the previous Congress, Rep. Clyde introduced the SHORT (Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today) Act, which would remove the unconstitutional taxation, registration, and regulation in the National Firearms Act of Short Barreled Rifles, Short Barreled Shotguns, and those classified under “Any Other Weapons.”
The SHORT Act goes after the heart of Biden’s pistol ban by deregulating the National Firearms Act that ultimately gives the ATF the power to enforce Biden’s ban.
That’s why we’re also urging Congress to vote YES on the SHORT Act, as it will shortly be reintroduced in the new Congress.

You see, GOA is committed to using every single tool at our disposal to fight this unconstitutional assault on our rights.

In fact, If Biden vetoes the CRA or the SHORT Act, we’re urging Congress to retaliate in defense of our Second Amendment rights by cutting the ATF’s funding.
Now that the Speaker’s gavel has been taken out of Pelosi’s hands, the new House majority better make true on its promises to gun owners by using the Power of the Purse to slash the ATF’s funding.

The ATF reportedly processed 512,315 NFA forms in 2020.

At that rate – assuming no further backlog and assuming all affected gun owners comply with gun registration – it would take the ATF over 78 years to process all the pistol registration forms required by this executive action.

That’s why it’s especially critical to SLASH the ATF’s funds right now and strip them of their ability to enforce Biden’s pistol ban.

While GOA continues to fight this unconstitutional executive action on every front, we need YOUR help pressuring Congress to get moving immediately.
So please, add your name to our pre-written letter urging your Representative and two Senators to use the CRA to pass a Joint Resolution of Disapproval to REPEAL the ATF’s pistol ban.

I sure don't know but there is no way I believe there are 40 million ARs out there with the short barrels and braces that are being outlawed by this.

I've sent letters, OK E-mails to my congress critters every time on this issue but I personally could care less for myself. I'll continue to defend YOUR right to them but I can't see me ever wanting one myself. Heck I have a neighbor who I think has at least 2 or 3 and maybe more of them. But then he also has those short barrel shotguns with no butt stock. Dunno why anyone wants those either but I think they have a right to own them if they want to.

All 2A supporters should oppose any gun law, whether it personally affects you or not.  I do not own nor care for bump stocks, but called and wrote my reps when they went after them.  I own a few braced ARs and believe it has been far too long that SBRs and silencers were included in the Class III list.  As a matter of fact, I think the entire NFA should be repealed. So I too will do what I can to stop the ATF's madness.

I'll continue to support the rights of folks to own whatever sort of gun they want to and with no restrictions. But there are a lot of those that I personally have no use for.

I can see where a short barrel rifle like an AR or some such would be more handy for home defense than a longer one. I can't imagine tho what it would do to your hearing if fired inside a home without some really good hearing protection.

To me ARs even with 16" barrels are about the most noisy thing I've shot. I'd sure hate to touch one off inside without hearing protection.

Would be good to add a silencer to them but then the government here thinks those are as bad as machine guns and treat them the same. Even in stupid European countries silencers are sort of an expected part of a rifle not something to be treated as the enemy.

You would think, but many supposed 2A supporters will not fight proposed anti gun laws if it doesn't directly effect them.  They figure they will not need to worry about it, that is until they find that the anti-gunners are taking our rights away one bite at a time, but by then it's too late.

ya bill there loud. No way around it but for one im not going to worry about loud when someones trying to kill me or my family and honestly i think a 357 snubby is just as obnoxious to shoot indoor without hear protection. At least close enough that id wont make the differnce. ANY gun going off indoors is LOUD.
