Well I did click on the article, but
had to give it up after the one guy
said that the rem 8 was the first of
the 740/742/7400 etc.
Rem 8/81's were recoil operated, and
the others were gas
His thought may have been that the
8/81's preceded the gas operated
models, but he didn't say that
