Yes...I offered my side cutters too.. ..But of course, Gramp can only do/say so much. I learned long ago, that
unrequested advice is not welcome. ..But my hope is that the nose ring will go, with another year or so of maturity..
Not to say she hasn't given me concerns too, as children/grandchildren often do. ..But thank the Lord, she seems to be on the right track now.
I reminisce how as a little girl, I would take her to the park..help her climb up the steps to the high slide...
Then Grandpa had to play the part of the mean old troll, hiding under the slide (bridge)..and jumping for her..but never quite catching her..as she slid down..
Then we had to go over to a "stagecoach" built of pipes. Gramps had to drive the coach and horses, while
she rode shotgun, and drove off the stage robbers who were trying to catch us..
After the park, she and Gramps would climb aboard Gramp's lawn mower and ride to the little local store for some refreshments.
She is a big girl now, and works as a beauty consultant with a beauty products firm.. But Grandpa still treasures his memories....
