Levers in Africa
« on: March 13, 2004, 05:11:39 PM »
Let me help clear up a few issues on my first visit here on this great site.First Enforcer (Shane)moved to Vera Cruz,Mexico, and trained somewhere in Brazil for submission fighting. He then stayed in West Palm Beach,Florida for about month while waiting to leave for his trip to Africa.

Second they were over there for almost a month instead of the 11 days they were supposed to,due to an illness that his brother suffered while over there. But anyway the hunt came off with great results, other than that. They were able to take a number of animals,2 with the Savage M99 in 375Win.One was a large male lion(over 400lbs)and a large kudu(over 500lbs),both with only one shot.I believe he used a Nosler Partition in the 260gr area at around 2200fps.

Third the trip was marked by only taking levers actions.I don't know what they all were, but know on the lion hunt his brother backed him with a Savage M99 in 416/284 McPherson.

Anyway he is back or on his way back to Mexico, where he has no internet access. So he will be sending me the pictures and fact sheets for all animals they took. Each picture will show hunter, game and weapon it was taken with. Each fact sheet will have rifle used, ammo used, weight of animal, distance animal was taken, and how many times it had to be shot.

Anyway i look forward to posting items as I receive them. Thanks guys.Seeker

Off the topic but what is "submission fighting", is it like when we were kids and the other kid had to say "uncle!", but perhaps more intense?....<><....

Submission fighting

It is when men fight without boxing gloves in a metal ring(octagon,UFC)or in a boxing ring(Pride Fighting),by using all types of mixed martial arts, wrestling, boxing etc....You are allowed to use knees, elbows, fists, feet and submission moves. The goal is to submit your oppenent  by use of submission holds(arm bar,key hole lock, rear naked choke etc...or knock them out.Though you can win by decision it isn't seen very often.

Depending on the fight it is usally 3-5 mintue rounds, or 5-5 minute rounds, and anything in between. To be sucessful at it,one must be trained in all areas of fighting to some degree.

To fight or not to fight

Fighting has been going on for hundreds of years, all we have done is taken it to another level.

To fight and beat the best fighters from all around the world is an awesome feat.To be the very best in the world at any sport,is a dream for most people. Its the same for the warriors of the UFC and Pride fighting.I assure you.

If one has not trained all his life and made this life.It would be hard for him to understand what it takes to do it and why one would choose to do it.So I do see your point.

Thanks guys

Seeker,

Thanks for the update on Enforcer.  I had thought he was going to Venezuela but suppose I was wrong.  I wish him well and hope to see him posting here.  I always enjoyed his posts on MT.
