Waffle maker..
« on: February 23, 2023, 12:20:09 AM »
I guess that is what they call them now, waffle iron I suppose, fit only the old cast iron ones.

Anyway, I used to hav8e one but never used it...and probably gave it away.  ..But after v7iewing some handy-dandy folks work out with one on line, I figured I might try one.

I suppose removable plates is an important feature to look for.  So, any advice, hints, tips or quick recipes?

I'm thinking they can do much more than waffles...maybe some of those bistro sandwiches etc..

..But of course, bacon, fruit etc, could be added to waffle batter too.

We have an electric one. The plates are reversable, waffle on one side, smooth on the other. It has been so long since it's been used I don't know if it will work anymore. Frozen waffles and pancakes are so good plus quick to have ready to eat that they have been our choice for some time. Take them out of the package, drop them in the toaster, throw the pack in the trash, and that's it. No  muss, no fuss, no utensils to wash.

You will get what you paid for if you get one.
My cousin gave me a cheap one for Christmas a while back, it only cooked one side at a time.
Used it once, then tossed it in the recycle trash.

He thought I was BSing, but when he tried his, same result. 8)

I think I'll check the reviews before I move.  Frozen waffles are handy..but I would like to try some different tricks,
such as shown in this video.  Being alone, I don't expect to get a large one, but perhaps an 8" round one.
