How we as free Americans can differ..and that's good..  I doubt I have bought more than 2 boxes of such cereal over the last 40 years..
I grew up with breakfast cereal, both dry and cooked.

We Always had boxes of breakfast cereal.
Sad thing is , as simple as it is too make I am getting too lazy to cook up hot cereal and I used to eat the equivalent of 4 servings, myself, when I made it.
At that, my father grew up with Oatmeal, and other hot cereals when he was on the farm, way back in the twenties.

Today I got up at Seven Thirty and when I got down stairs there was a plate of scrambled eggs and coffee.

An interesting side note on breakfast cereals.

Back in the 1930s nand 1940s, there was a body buildre/healty life promoter named Bernarr McFaddan.  He had an institute at Dansville, NY,
   In the Finger Lakes country.
He of course, taught a healthy way of living, bringing unhealthy people to his institute, and hopefully..or usually, restoring their health.

THey had a special recipe for brteakfast cereal, wherein they would take a concoction of natural grains, grind them finely..adding other nutrients.
Then they would moisten them thoroughy, roll them very thin and bake them on sheets in an oven, then remove from oven, crumble into fine bits
   and serve as breakfast.

It is said, that a visitor came one day, from a cereal company in Battle Creek, or some other such place, to observe the health clinic..

He went back home, and soon "Grape Nuts" was introduced..

Of course, Grape Nuts is much like "Christian Science".   ...It's not grapes, nor is it nuts....  ;) ;D

Was not hungry till I ate the first on, then, I figured I needed three more - small ones.

Cooked egg on a bun this morning.  I use a small bowl, coat the inside with Crisco butter flavor spray, put in the egg, break the yolk..salt & pepper,
then pop it in the neuk for 1 minute..

Then slip onto the bun with mayo..grab my coffee and consume both, while catching the news.

 Three fried Summer Sausage sandwiches.

I rarely pay much attention but leaving bread in the refridgerator, dries it out unless you use a zip lock bag.
I probably should have had Sour Cream on toast.

throwing away my fat jeans and getting down to 36s and almost 34s where i was when i worked has been alot of inspiration. 75lbs gone now that will never come back and when i strted i could only do 5 push ups and im at 50 3 times a day now and am benching 250lb again and havent done that since my back blew out in 07. thats 250 with 8 back surgerys since 07. this summer i have to work on my legs. 2 hip replacements, an ankle replacement and a knee replacement since 07 to work through. used to run at least 2 miles a day. running isnt even a goal anymore. i know thats not happening but walking 2 miles a day will be my goal for the summer. still not bad for 69! wife bought me a t shirt that says born in 56, fully restored, not all numbbers matching parts :o

Grand daughter's sourdough bread, sliced thick..toasted.  Buttered both slices with Amish made butter, putting a slather of grape jelly on one.

Start with the butter only version..finish with the jellied slice.  Washed down with Red Rose...English breakfast tea, sweetened with some of my
  friend's local honey.

Sometimes I buy a bit sliced of corned beef, and take it home to make some reuben sandwiches.  Have you noticed hjow Pastrami tastes much like
corned beef..or is that 'just me' ?

corned beef..or is that 'just me' ?

Corned beef originated in Irish communities and is commonly served on St. Patrick’s Day alongside cabbage, as with this Corned Beef and Cabbage (pictured above). Corned beef is also a key ingredient in a Reuben sandwich and leftovers can also be used to make Corned Beef Hash.

Corned beef is brisket that has been cured in a salt solution then boiled or slow-cooked. It got its name from the “corns” (large, coarse pellets of salt) that were used to dry-cure large cuts of beef brisket. In addition to salt and water, the brine includes spices, garlic and herbs, including bay leaf, black peppercorn, mustard seed, dried red pepper and coriander. Typically, the flat cut of brisket is used because it’s leaner and easier to slice. For more about how corned beef is made, check out our What is Corned Beef primer.

What Is Pastrami?

Pastrami is a staple at delis, commonly Jewish American delis, and is most often sliced for sandwiches, like this Marathon Sandwich or these Pastrami Football Finger Sandwiches.

Pastrami is made from beef brisket that has been cured, coated in spices, cold smoked and then steamed. Pastrami's thick coat of spices typically includes crushed black pepper, coriander, mustard seeds, garlic and other spices that might be included in a pickling spice mixture.

Probably because they both have garlic.

Today I had loaf ends of Walmart White Bread, those little piece too small and easy to burn in a toaster, toasted then coated with sour cream and salt.

Lloyd, don't know if you're doing Atkins or keto, but if so, there are now 0 carb tortillas.  So, add some zero carb bacon (no sugar) and low carb eggs and you can have a whole burrito . . . or two.

mostly just high protien low carb.  eggs are great even cooked bacon and cheese arent bad. the shells not real great but one isnt going to hurt. 1/2 because i do a protien shake every morning and im also trying to keep the calories down for another 15lbs till i hit 200, after that it will be easier because ill just need to maintain. its tough to try to gain muscle at the same time your trying to loose weight. actually the VA dietitition i deal with tells me to eat more not less
