Have a model 36-RC. S# Either the letters C or G, (can't tell) 714. Has a 20" pipe, pistol grip, semi-beavertail forarm. What is curious to me is the marking"Marlin Safety" on the top of the reciever.  Any thoughts?

A model 36 would not have a G prefix, so it should be a C. The 36 was made from 1937 to 1947, with the C prefix being prior to WWII.

we the heck is it at, I know they wrote it down when I bought my Marlin 375, but I can't find the dang thing, just ordered a Leupold 1-4 20mm scope for it, what is a good scope mounts and rings for it
